Hi VJ members!

Do you think if it's worrying not to have received my packet 3 so far ?

NOA2 received on Aug. 2, 2013.

Then on Aug. 26, 2013 my fiancé (U.S citizen) received a letter from the NVC saying:

"The State Department's National Visa Center has recently received an approved l-I29F petition filed on behalf of your fiancée. This letter is to let you know that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post where your visa interview will take place.

The U.S. Embassy/Consulate General will contact your fiancée when ready to begin processing her application.
Your fiancée will soon receive a packet with instructions from the consular section on how to apply for the Kl visa at that post and what documents will be required. In the meantime, you should visit the Department of State's website at www.travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_4323.htm1 to determine if the processing post has any information of which you should be immediately aware"

I sent an email to my Embassy last night.

And i also had a look to other timelines, but, unless they've not updated their timeline, i guess we are in the deadline...but i'd need a confirmation.

Thx for your great help !

have you called nvc for a case number already? that would be a start, and yes the embassy email was a good idea also

I do hear that france is a little backed up and has recently cancelled/rescheduled a few interviews due to their backlog.. maybe a contributing factor

You should call the NVC ( you can search and find the number on this website ) and inquire what your new case number is. The NVC assigns the embassy specific case number. With that number you will probably have better luck contacting the embassy.

Hey EdwigeH,

I am in a similar case. The NVC received my case around August 21st and then I received the letter that they had sent it to the consulate. I was worried (and still kind of am) about the postal system for my fiance in Peru because the town that he lives in has a tiny "post office" in the living room of a local woman's house and I had problems receiving things there when I used to live with him.

In light of that, I e-mailed the embassy expressing my concerns and asking if they had received the case yet (using the case number from the NVC). I received an e-mail back in which they told me the interview date that they had on file for my finace, and also stated that if the packet does not reach him, he can pick up a hard copy at the offices in Lima.

I'm not sure if other consulates would be able to handle it in the same way, but it is worth a shot. I am glad that I did that because our interview is on Oct. 7th and even though he still has not received the packet, I was able to buy tickets and schedule my trip to be there with him for the interview.

I hope that helps, and I hope that you hear back soon! :)

Hello EdwigeH!

I am also waiting for Packet 3 from Paris Embassy.

Letter received by my fiancé: 26th of August

I am waiting patiently but getting as anxious as you. Just to let you know that you are not alone in this case. It seems that Paris Embassy is backlogged according to the other messages on the forum. I will try to shoot an email by the end of the week if I don't receive the Package 3. If I get any answer, I will not hesitate to share the news. Otherwise, don't hesitate to contact me.

Just to confirm - when I put my Montreal case number into this website, it says my Visa status is Ready and that I'm ready to schedule an appointment. The Consulate received all of our Packet 3 documents on August 28th but we have yet to receive Packet 4 and the "Visa Specialists" at the Consulate General call centre keep telling me that there is no record of having received Packet 3. We are SO confused. Packet 3 was allegedly sent to use June 21 but we never received it and when they finally responded to our email inquiry on August 27 we were told that we could have just downloaded it and sent the documents any time. I have just called and booked my appointment but I'm worried that it is going to be cancelled becasue we aren't actually ready to book. Can someone please help???

Thank you!!!!!!

PS this is my first day having an account on VJ, and I haven't been able to do my timeline yet - will do soon!!!

Ok so the best thing to do is to download the forms and send them ASAP. Then call and check it has been received. Still book your appointment just make sure you make a copy of the for sand take it to your interview with you.

Also you would probably need to do the DS-260 online form. Make a copy of that too.

I booked my interview (December 3)...eeek!!! The so-called Visa Specialist at the DOS told me today that they still have not logged our Packet 3 and that the Visa Status check on the DOS website is "often wrong, there are always a lot of mistakes"...WHAT!?! How can this be? Are they serious??? Sorry for venting but this is seriously frustrating! We're worried that they are going to cancel our interview because it wasn't authorized. And we can't book the medical until we actually get Packet 4 right, there's a page in there that we need to take to the doctor I think? I've read people saying that they got it via email...is that something we have to request? Does the Montreal Consulate even do anything electronically?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
