Visa Processing - Visitation Options

My wife and I were married this past August and are getting ready to submit our initial filing for the CR-1 marriage visa. I am a US citizen and she is a Canadian citizen. We were married in my home state and she has since returned to Canada. During the processing time, to mitigate the time apart, we are exploring options for visitation scenarios and time frames. We are looking at both short term and long term trips on either end and would appreciate feedback and vetting of our options, to ensure that they would in no way be an issue or jeopardize our ongoing visa application procedures. Here are a few of the options we are considering...

Option 1:

A one or two week trip every few months (either she flies down here or I fly up there). I assume this would not be an issue and would be treated as a standard visit so long as sufficient evidence is provided, if requested, of an intent to return (particularly on her part) so as not to give the impression of an indefinite stay (where visa fraud would potentially be committed, if I understand that correctly)?

Option 2:

A one or two month trip a few times throughout the extent of the processing (expected to be 9-12 months in general?). Given that a tourist visa allows a 6 month stay, I don't assume this would be an issue either (particularly if the same evidence for option 1, of an intent to return, is provided)? My wife is able to get numerous extended leaves of absence from her work and is able to return to work upon her return to Canada, so this would be viable.

Option 3:

Two back-to-back extended stays that last 5-6 months, thereby nearly canceling out time apart (with an additional trip in there if processing extends beyond the expected time frame). Am I correct in my understanding that a tourist visa is renewed upon re-entry, which can be immediate re-entry (or soon after), and that it is not 6 months allowed within a calendar year? We also understand that she would need to return to Canada for the medical exam and interview at the end of the process.

If anything is unclear I can happily elaborate. All responses are appreciated. Thanks for your help!
