Travel through Germany to Nigeria

Has anyone ever travelled through Frankfurt, Germany to get to Lagos, Nigeria? If so, would you please share any tips or suggestions?

Must be flyin Lufthansa. I did and had i believe a 3 or 4 hour layover. Just walked and shopped and read. The airport is like a city has everything. Didn't even notice the time went so fast.

The last tail of my flight is through Lufthansa. I wanted to travel Thanksgiving Day and that was all that was available through United. I have a short layover ( a little over one hour).

Did you need any special visas?

U r a US citizen you don't need one. And you are in the airport anyway. 1 hr is short will take you that long to get through all the lines and to next gate.

So you have to change airlines in Frankfurt? So you mean you have to pick up your bags and go check in and the counter than get to your gate? which may be in a different building. Like II said that airport is its own city its huge and I know Lufthansa is in its own building since that's their base.Well have y

I only plan on having carry on luggage. I'm hoping which will be only one bag no more than two since I have clothes back home. Looks like I'm going to be getting in some good exercise! Better start getting in practice at the gym.

I just did this yesterday, I'm in Lagos now.

I was lucky that the Pilot arrived 30 minutes earlier than scheduled even though we were late leaving LAX. We were gate blocked by another plane and we had to be bused from the tarmac to arrival. According to one of the Stewards this is very common on this flight. He said they usually bus to and from the plane for the flight.

As an American you don't need a lot of the visa ####### but really you don't have time to go exploring.

United had a sweet setup for checking in at LAX and at Newark. There is various line for each group so you can line up. Not so in Frankfurt but you can scan your pass and self check in into the plane.

I checked two bags at LAX and didn't see them until Muritala. I also transitioned via Newark also.

You won't have to do anything in Frankfurt except get tot your new gate. Oh I passed though another security checkpoint but not sure if it was because we were bused from the plane instead of arriving at a gate though. I didn't have to take off my shoes there.

Yes I did. I wish they extended the offer through the end of the year. I'm not going until November.

It's amazing how big some airports are, we drove for seemingly 25 minutes plus the 15 minutes of waiting for the buses and folks lugging unbelievable "carry ons".

So OP pack light and only one carry on.
