No. That happened despite his efforts to destroy America. If it weren't for Obama, the DOW would be at least at 25,000 today. See the damage he's done?

So when a Democrat is elected again in 2016 will the GOP just continue their current position of "block everything and try to make the economy worse" plan of attack? It's like hiring a bunch of guys to do nothing. They've even admitted that this is their plan.

The American people should be outraged by this 5 year long tactic by the Right.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Why bother, when they can just be outraged at Obama for everything?

They claim people spend too much time blaming Bush for everything, but they do the same damn thing. Just a different target.

I think attacking the wrong country is a wee bit worse than trying to give everyone healthcare.

But that's just my opinion...

Looking for hand-outs? How about you take responsibility for yourself rather than blaming the President for your failures?

Did you see me asking for a handout? Lemme help you... no0pb.gifno0pb.gif

I appreciate your apparent concern for my position in life, but I am pretty darn successful, thanks, therefore I can't blame my (lack of) failures on anyone but myself. Your ASSumption is way off base, but that seems to be the norm for you. All my mortgages are paid on time, and no one is breathing down my neck, so I guess I'm safe thus far. (though all of that can change in a NY minute)

I'm not blaming Obama for the richness of the top1%... but whatever happened to "leveling the field" where it comes to money? He wanted us all to be on a more even keel when he took office, but quite the opposite has occurred. What I was referring to, since you don't seem to get it from the rest of this thread, is:

Published: Sept. 11, 2013 at 3:00 AM

BERKELEY, Calif., Sept. 11 (UPI) -- The income gap between the richest 1 percent of Americans and the rest of the country widened to a record level, a university analysis of tax filings indicates.

The incomes of the top 1 percent increased 19.6 percent in 2012 -- accounting for 19.3 percent of total household income, breaking a 1927 record -- while the bottom 99 percent incomes grew only 1 percent, Emmanuel Saez of the University of California, Berkeley, said in the "Striking it Richer: The Evolution of Top Incomes in the United States" analysis.

"In sum, top 1 percent incomes are close to full recovery while bottom 99 percent incomes have hardly started to recover," Saez said.

According to the latest version of “Striking it Richer: The Evolution of Top Incomes in the United States,” byEmmanuel Saez, of the University of California, Berkeley, the income inequality gap has been expanding, rather than narrowing, as the 2007-2009 recession recedes. That trend has been unfolding for more than 30 years, with the highest earners only temporarily set back by the most recent downturn.

The findings, based in part on U.S. income-tax data and census figures, update Mr. Saez’s earlier work with Thomas Picketty, with initial income estimates for 2012. The research will be updated again in January 2014.

Among the highlights:

–All told, average inflation-adjusted income per family climbed 6% between 2009 and 2012, the first years of the economic recovery. During that period, the top 1% saw their incomes climb 31.4% — or, 95% of the total gain — while the bottom 99% saw growth of 0.4%.

Well, you posted this, not me.

Not sure what you are raging about, unless you are one of those top 1%. I'm not, and don't see that he's done anything positive for me or my base. Or our country, for that matter.

I am not part of the 1% either but I've done well over the last 5 years. So well that I don't need to sit here and complain about what the President has or has not done for me. I didn't expect him to do anything for me at all. Just needed the economy's free fall stopped. That was done and I took it for there for me and my family. It's all about personal responsibility. I take it. How about you?

And yet that seems to be ALL you do, day in and out, right here on VJ. And complain about GZ. And "gun nuts", which is such an arbitrary term as to be laughable when you bring it up.

Unlike you, I DO expect him to do something for our country. I'm not asking for much, but how about keeping a few of the many (false) campaign promises he made? Or not distracting us/lying about Benghazi and other things. But if you wanna be his poster boy and tout his successes, have at it. It will be a small island on which you wave your flag.

I am sure part of it is early electioneering. Create the right atmosphere and even a dipstick republican will get elected ahead of a Dem. As things stand right now the Reps have no potential candidate that can unite the party, ,apart from Jeb. Another Bush might be a hard sell though, smacks of an 'elite' political family.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .
