Getting FBI and Police clearance while waiting for green card

Hi,

Does anyone have experience about getting FBI and Police clearance while waiting for green card? Here is the situation; I want to get a certified in health care work and they require FBI and Police clearance. I am waiting for a green card but I already have work authorization. I ahve been in Pennsylvania for 7 months. I don't know if am eligible to get those clearance, please help if you experience the same thing. Thank you very much.
