Hi All,

We are in the process of filling DS-260 and have below questions on that

1. There is a question where it asks us to fill out the educational institutes attended. I am confused that whether it is asking for my 10th grade, 12th grade and College level details or just 12th and college level details. Please also note that i have passed my 10th and 12th grade from the same school so in the section where it asks for the number of educational institutions attended will be 2 or 3.

2. In the petitioner details it is asking for the details who has filed for petition but i can't see the option to choose Fiance from the drop down list. The closest which i can relate or choose is Spouse so should i select the option Spouse because it is the only one which makes most of the sense to fill that section of DS-260.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Hmmmmm......I was reading can't remember where; that form ds 260 was not for k 1 visa yet but again who knows, there's so much confussion. Maybe that's why its not in the drop down list for petitioner! I was going to have Lalit do that form but I think we barely reached the deadline on that form ( does not help he is in Mumbai now).

There has been a great deal of confusion about this! We were instructed by the Visa help (USTravelDocs) folks that he was to complete it and not the 230. So what we had decided that because there was the confusion we would just do both to be on the safe side. :) Maybe after Lalit has his interview we will have a better idea if it's actually required at the Mumbai embassy (I certainly hope not!) ;)

Yes I hope not either. I keep going to the actual Mumbai website to see if that ds 260 pops up in the forms needed but it has not yet. Both Lalit and I figured either which way we go we will be delayed since his medial brought delays.

Hi,

My fiance has his interview on Oct 3rd in Delhi. I emailed US Travel docs as well because I keep seeing posts about the DS-260. We have already sent in his DS-230 and have been told that all of his necessary documents are there. US travel docs emailed me back saying that we do not need to complete the DS-260 but, to bring the email that they sent stating this to the interview as evidence. Maybe you guys can email them as well if you're unsure? I started to fill it out but, then got to the question of the petitioner and there was no fiance option - I did not want to put spouse for fear of them accusing us of already being married at the interview.

Seems that US Travel Docs is giving out mixed information. My fiance contacted them about this and they advised that he should complete the 260 and not the 230. My finance is also going to take a printout of his conversation with them to his interview and he has completed both the 260 and the 230. Because of the "spouse" question this form certainly doesn't seem to apply to K1 applications but I have talked with others who were told the same thing we were so it's just confusing.

Wishing your fiance good luck on his interview :)
