Hi all... I'm starting to fill up the I-129f forms, but Im a bit confused

I'm going to petition my F from the Philippines and I want to know exactly what I need to include in the I-129F packet

I understand the basic stuff like the:

- Cover letter

- I-129f petition form

- G-325a biographic info (both)

- G-1145

- Letter of Intent (both)

- 2 2x2 pics (both)

- Proof of our on going relationship

- Letters, chat logs, boarding passes, text messages, etc

- Affidavit of support

- Birth certificate (both)

- FC-029

- Explanation of how we met

NOW THE PART THAT CONFUSES ME...

Does he have to sign and mail the following forms to me to be included in my I-129F packet before I send it off to USCIS?? or... are these documents for him to submit to the US Embassy in Manila??

- DS-156

- DS-156K

- DS-157

- DS 158

I'm sorry... The reason why I'm asking is because different people are telling me different things and I want to clarify. I would hate to receive a RFE because I know that would just delay the process.

PLEASE HELP.

Thanks!!

The DS forms are for the foreign fiance(e) to fill out to apply for a K-1 visa at the consulate in their country. That happens later, after you have an approved I-129F petition. Only send with the I-129F what is listed in the guide and the I-129F form instructions. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

You do not need the US birth certificate and all the page of the US passport, or the naturalization and all pages of the US passport. You need either a copy of your US birth certificate, naturalization OR all pages of US passport. Only one form of documentation is required for proving citizenship.

I see...

Regarding the Affidavit of support...

Right now I make a little bit above minimum wage and if I have my dad be a co-sponsor for my fiance, he will sign the affidavit on behalf of my fiance or me?

And thank you.

Right now I make a little bit above minimum wage and if I have my dad be a co-sponsor for my fiance, he will sign the affidavit on behalf of my fiance or me?

1). What was your 2012 income?

2). What is your projected 2013 income?

You are the sponsor, and you must submit an I-134 along with your 2012 tax return, W-2, current paycheck stubs, and employer's letter.

If you plan on using a joint sponsor, your joint sponsor also must provide an I-134 (or, better, an I-864), a 2012 income tax return, W-2, and current paycheck stubs.

Keep in mind that the U.S. Embassy Manila accepts joint sponsors for K-1 cases, at best, maybe 50% of the time.

If you'd like to use a co-sponsor read about the consulate in the Philippines and whether they accept it or not. Regardless the amount of money you make, you'll always the the sponsor so what you'll have to do is send 2 copies of the affidavit of support: one filed by you and one filed by your co-sponsor.

FC-029 is an old vestige form from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) days. Similar verbiage of the old form is expressed in the VJ Forum's Cover Letter for I-129F example. It is the statement at the bottom of the cover letter speaking about the use and intent of photocopies. If you use the VJ Cover Letter example as a template, you should be okay.
