Greetings all:

Our petition was approved by USCIS on 11/13 and NVC still does not have it? Does this seem strange to anyone? Has anyone else had it take that long? Should I contact USCIS to find out if they have sent it? I am confused here. Any advice would be most appreciated.

Hey there buddy. Just an FYI for you and anyone else checking the NVC automated phone system, K-1's are not at NVC long enough to make it into the system, so the only way to confirm NVC has or doesn't have your case is by email or by talking to someone live.

It took about two days to get an email response for us, but it was a positive, and our case was being processed by NVC at the time in preparation for sending it on to Abu Dhabi.

NVCInquiry@state.gov is your best bet, and include your names and USCIS case number. They will eventually get back to you.

I never tried the phone system, but again, according to a number of previous posts that I read, NVC never puts K-1's into thier automated phone system so if you go that route, wade through the BS until you get a live person on the line.

Like Luzy said, sometimes CSC sits on approved cases for a while before sending them on to NVC... Sorry it sounds like that has happened to you, but they do eventually set them free!

Good luck to you two!

We were approved on 11/29 and I sent NVC an email earlier this week asking if they have received our case. (I included our case number and names)

About 4 days later they reponsded that they had not.

It took a friend of mine 2 weeks - her NOA2 was from 11/16 and the letter from NVC was dated 11/30. This letter stated that NVC had received her NOA2 and that her application will be sent to the embassy in a week.

Hope this helps.

took about a week in my case, from csc to nvc. best to call and speak to a live person, don't try the automated reponse as such won't help you, as someone pointed out above due to the k-1's not being in the automated system.
