I need to submit a copy of my parents marriage certificate to USCIS. The document is written both in parents country language and in English on one page. Do I need a certified copy of translation since the document has information in English.

translate anything that could be lost with an adjudicator who only reads and speaks English

You normally just need to write the translation and having it signed by a person who is capable of translating with a signature of that person.

He can't be related to you or the beneficiary.

August 15, 2013 Received case number after enquiry. Booked medical and sent packet 3 forms.

August 31, 2013 Medical

Sept 18, 2013 Packet 3 forms logged into the system

Sept 24, 2013 Packet 4 received (dated September 19)

October 4, 2013 Interview *approved*

October 9, 2013 Passport received

November 12, 2013 POE Los Angeles

You don;t need a translation if the official document has everything in English also,

For example, my marriage cert was in both English and Irish- no translation needed.; my Swiss police cert was in French, German, Italian and English, all on the same page- no translation needed.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
