When my fiance has his interview at Montreal Canada do I need to fly to Canada and be at the interview with him? I know it's not required it's just him but will it help if I am there too? The only problem that I may have is that I have a little one at home and not sure if I can get someone to take care of her while I'm there I suppose I could bring her with me. How important is that I'm there will it make a big difference or not??

In my opinion, it would not make a big difference. Maybe not at all. Just that your fiance might feel calmer with you being there, ya know, like a mental support. But other than that, no... I don't think the consular would even let you be with him during the interview.

What I can suggest you is, stay where you are with your lil one and give your man a call before the interview to give him support. From what I've read, the interview wouldn't be hard, and he will be okay. Good luck to both of you :)

Phallon,

You are not required to be there for the interview. In fact, for "low fraud" countries, it makes very little difference if the USC petitioner is present. Some anecdotal evidence exists, suggesting that the presence of the petitioner in a "high Fraud" country is beneficial to the process.

Bottom line in your case, it will not make any appreciable difference.

I AGREE WITH EVERYONE ELSE, IT'S NOT NECESSARY FOR YOU TO BE THERE, CALL HIM FOR MORAL SUPPORT AND STAY WITH THE LITTLE ONE. ALSO THINK ABOUT THE EXPENSE ON GETTING THERE, YOU COULD ALWAYS MEET HIM TO TRAVEL BACK WITH YOU ONCE THE VISA IS ON HAND. ALWAYS KEEP IN MY THE EXPENSE BEHIND IT. GOOD LUCK ON HIS INTERVIEW

I went with my fiance to his interview last week and the guy doing the interview asked me just as many questions as he asked my fiance. I probably talked more than he did. I'm not sure if me being there helped but the guy did ask me questions like if I was me, what do I do, what do my grandparents do (they were the sponsors), if they were still married, if I will work when I get home, will I go back to my old job, why I picked an intership in London...was it to be with my fiance, how many times I've been here. Lots of questions it was weird I thought I would have to be quiet the whole time. Anyways, the interview was great but strange once again cos I thought I wouldn't have to talk at all.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

No, it's not necessary at all. Especially in Canada. Quite a low-risk/fraud country.

But one thing to keep in mind, both Montreal and Vancouver do allow the USC into the interview with the foriegn fiance. So if you do decide to go, you will be interviewed together (and maybe even seperately).

I decided to attend the interview with Craig in Vancouver. Mostly so I can keep the forms/evidence in order and he can focus on being his smiley adorable approved self. That, and so I can hold his hand. :)
