When white males become the leading statistics in hate crimes, maybe that will be the case.

Now thats comical.

I point out how seldom whites are protected by hate-crime laws and you reply ...... lack of action highlights the lack of a problem.

You love to put out "facts". Let's look at the statistics since you love to look at them any other time:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hate_crime_laws_in_the_United_States

Analysis of the 1999 FBI statistics by John Perazzo in 2001 found that white violence against black people was 28 times more likely (1 in 45 incidents) to be labelled as a hate crime than black violence against white people (1 in 1254 incidents)

Donald Altschiller, librarian at Boston University, asserts that hate crimes against Caucasians are hate crimes as much as any other. "Hate crime laws are colorblind", he states.[citation needed] Although there are fewer hate crimes directed against Caucasians than against other groups, they do occur and are prosecuted.[17] In fact, the case in which the Supreme Court upheld hate crimes legislation against First Amendment attack, Wisconsin v. Mitchell, 508 U.S. 476 (1993), involved a white victim. Hate crime statistics published in 2002, gathered by the FBI under the auspices of the Hate Crime Statistics Act of 1990, documented over 7,000 hate crime incidents, in roughly one-fifth of which the victims were white people.[18] However, these statistics have caused dispute. The FBI's hate crimes statistics for 1993, which similarly reported 20% of all hate crimes to be committed against white people, prompted Jill Tregor, executive director of Intergroup Clearinghouse, to decry it as "an abuse of what the hate crime laws were intended to cover", stating that the white victims of these crimes were employing hate crime laws as a means to further penalize minorities.[

Thats my exact point!

TO make the case that a black committed a hate-crime, a lot more evidence is needed. so fewer cases are found and then fewer cases show up in the statistics you site.

Since you are The Man with FBI facts, tell us who is more likely to commit a generic crime against another race (robbery murder, assault etc) Blacks or whites?

Off the top of my head I believe the rate is... well I better not do that incase I am wrong, I will wait for your answer.goofy.gif

Racist anti-black bias is the most frequently reported hate crime motivation in the United States. Of the 8,208 hate crimes reported to the FBI in 2010, 48% were race related - with 70% of those having an anti-black bias.[7]Other frequently reported bias motivations were anti-Hispanic, anti-Jewish, anti-Islamic, anti-white, and against a person's sexual orientation.[7] At times, these bias motivations overlap, as violence can be both anti-gay and anti-black, for example.[8]

The majority of victims of violent hate crime in 2003-2011 were from the White community (65%) followed by Hispanic (15%) and African American groups (13%)

According to the United States Department of Justice: Blacks accounted for 52.5% of homicides, whites 45.3% and Native Americans and Asians 2.2%, from 1980 to 2008. The offending rate for blacks was almost 8 times higher than whites, and the victim rate 6 times higher. Most murders were intraracial, with 84% of white homicide victims murdered by whites, and 93% of black victims murdered by blacks

Context would do both you and NB good.

When it's black on white, I say jail or DP. If it's white on black, it's jail or DP. My stance doesn't change. The color of someone's skin doesn't make them a killer. It's the character. Because when it's a white guy on a shooting rampage, your comments are relatively tamer. You don't ask about their family life, or their history. We chalk it up to mental illness and then start debating about violence within the black community, every time. When those kids killed that baseball player, I said they should be locked up for life or be sentenced to death. When that WWII vet was killed, I called them douchebags and said they should be locked away. When white folks start raining bullets on innocent people, I never say "crazy crackers". But every single time a shooting occurs within your community, the party line is "oooh, let's take a walk to Chicago, Oakland, DC."

I have to define my blackness, because the way most of you talk here, we all are dangerous criminals.

I want to insult you, but for some reason I can't remember why...

That's because my warmth , grace and hospitality transcend all racial barriers

I was giving my wife a history lesson on how things use to be in the south on the way home tonight..She loves those

She said, no wonder they hate white people..

Diffrent perspective I suppose

I wonder if there has ever been a black charged with a hate crime

I don't hate white people, nor do the folks I associate with hate them. What I hate is this silly notion that we are on the same even playing field, and that blacks are solely responsible for their own demise. They have a part in it, but to say that racism isn't in there at all is ludicrous.

I think the reasons blacks don't get hit with hate crimes(guessing) is because we are already given longer sentences in terms of prison time. Killing a black person never gets you a lot of time. There have been cases where folks only serve 2 years or less for that, even getting acquitted and no time at all. And this might be one of the first ones here:

Racially motivated hate crimes committed by blacks, including murders, don't even get classified as hate crimes. This is what this thread is about.

Therefore, they are not even get included in these stats.

However lets look at the 2011 stats where they were classified.

2011: 5731 classified hate crimes. 50.9% of (classified) hate crimes were committed by whites and 20.9% of hate crimes were committed by blacks. Blacks are 12.6% of the population and whites are 72.4%. White population: 223553265. Black population: 38929319.

Hate crime commission rate among whites: 1.51/100k. Hate crime commission rate among blacks: 3.08/100K

Summary: A black person is 2.03 times more likely to commit a hate crime than a white person.

Your own stats already show that a black person is 8 times more likely to commit a murder than a white person.

So which community should be the most concerned and which community REALLY has the problem?

i don't get it.

Really? Let's look at the James Byrd case - which was a highly publicized murder of a black man by three white dirtbags in Texas.

Lawrence Russell Brewer: Committed racially motivated murder against James Byrd, Jr in Jasper, Tx in 1998. Executed 09/21/11 (you're right <snicker> he didn't get a lot of time)

John William King - currently on death row. He's not going anywhere.

Shawn Allen Berry - the third dirtbag, will be eligible for parole sometime around 2038. He's in PC though so he spends 23 hours a day in his little cell and that's what he will be doing for the next 25 years until his case even GETS to the parole board.

Of course execution and a life sentence isn't good enough for the black community though is it Marvin:

Some advocacy groups, such as the NAACP National Voter Fund, made an issue of this case during George W Bush's presidential campaign in 2000. They accused Bush of 'implicit racism' since, as governor of Texas, he opposed hate crime legislation. Also, citing a prior commitment, Bush could not appear at Byrd's funeral. Because two of the three murderers were sentenced to death and the third to life in prison (all charged with and convicted of capital murder, the highest felony level in Texas) Governor Bush maintained that "we don't need tougher laws".

I can keep going if you like.

On a side note, it would be nice if blacks weren't shot at for every little thing they do: http://www.memphisrap.com/2013/07/30/unarmed-florida-man-shot-at-17-times-by-police-in-driveway-outside-his-house/

Yet a white teenager high on drugs, fighting 9 cops, and ACTUALLY grabbing the policeman's firearm AND getting a shot off, is still alive and not a bullet hole in him. http://www.komonews.com/news/local/Police-Man-who-fired-officers-gun-at-city-hall-was-high-on-mushrooms-217499791.html
