It appears that in 'Melvin' Holden's little empire simply stopping for gas in the "wrong neighborhood" and getting knocked out for it is not a hate crime.

The beating happened about 11 p.m. on May 12 at a Chevron station on Scenic Highway in north Baton Rouge. Dickerson, who is black, is accused of knocking a white man unconscious after telling him he was “in the wrong neighborhood and he was not going to make it out,” according to court filings.

Justice in 'urban' America is definitely not color-blind. Where is Jesse Jackson and the "southern poverty law center" and the "Justice" department now?

So a white guy just gives speeches and sends letters in ND and the outrage is all over the board. What say you libs on this story?

i don't get it.

I say he was probably in the wrong neighborhood...so the assailant was indeed correct. Except he did make it out...which was an inaccurate threat.

Looks like the witness didn't hear him say that. Not to mention he is going to jail regardless.

The defendant (Dickerson) approached the white male victim," the police report stated.

It went on to read, "the defendant told him he was in the wrong neighborhood and he was not going to make it out." The victim said that's when he "was punched and knocked to the ground."

Wouldnt be the only "urban" witness to lie though would it

You can say black, but I know it's hard for you to do it without the disdain.

And as I said before, is the defendant going to get out of jail free? I would say Mr. Dickerson is going to spend some quality time in prison.

You libs don't differentiate between black skin and "urban" culture, but I always do and always have.

Just wanted to confirm your lack of outrage. Thanks

Now go back to discussing the Podunk town in North Dakota. The guy hasn't specifically done anything to anyone but it's way more important.

We already know your dismissive view of crimes committed by black people and we already know that you believe that crimes like this are justified based on skin color. Why don't you move back to your own thread and give more open-minded and less racist people a chance to speak. Thanks.

You appear to want to antagonize Marvin.

Read the article you posted. The legal actions of the DA are fully explained. The assailant will most likely to get a heavier sentence, end of story. What is there to complain about?

Well it's not that Blacks can't be guilty of hate-crimes, it's just that the bar is a lot higher and why wouldn't it be, these laws are to insure justice for "protected classes" which really means everyone but white males.

The truth is, he "was" in the wrong neighborhood!

Bet the guy has the "ghetto tracker" app on his phone now.

He can't stand "urban" folks. That's all.

When white males become the leading statistics in hate crimes, maybe that will be the case.

That app is racist, and it was supposed to be shut down.

When have I been dismissive about crimes committed by blacks? I just don't foam at the mouth when they do it and scream I told you so, like you do.

You are new so you do not know that it is impossible, under the hate crimes law, to get a heavier sentence by not having the hate crime penalty attached. The special hate crime classification looks like this: You get charged and sentenced for what you actually did, then the "hate crime" classification means that you get time automatically tacked on to the sentence you get.

the offender may be fined not more than five thousand dollars or imprisoned with or without hard labor for not more than five years, or both. This sentence shall run consecutively to the sentence for the underlying offense.

You are falling victim to liberal logic: The sentence for the hate crime classification is an additional up to 5 years to run consecutive to the sentence for the underlying crime, which means it starts after the original sentence is served. Not adding those extra years means that the assailant gets a heavier sentence? You see any problem with that logic?

When have I been dismissive about crimes committed by blacks? I just don't foam at the mouth when they do it and scream I told you so, like you do.

You have never shown a bit of concern or care for victims of "urban" crime. Today is no different. Skate on please.

And you'd be wrong as usual. I've called it out EVERY time it's been posted. I just don't call them civil rights heroes like you do, or make smart alec comments about their environment, like you do. But on the flip side, when it's a white person that's doing the killing, there's no jokes from you. No snappy comeback, no rapier wit. Either you ignore it completely, or point to the "urban" community and their problems.

Either way you call me racist for acting and speaking exactly like you. Seems either you need a mirror or we have a lot in common or maybe we are concerned about what concerns the people who are like us more than the people who are unlike us. What say you.

That's where you're wrong. See when I call it out, I don't focus on the skin color. I look at the person. I don't call them monkeys, or make jokes that are insensitive about their upbringing, or use the n-word, which you have said I endorse even though I have never used it here and have condenmed it at every turn.

You always get excited when it's black folks in the mix. Hell, I remember one post you actually said, we can talk about gun death numbers in black communities since it was your favorite subject.

I've said it before, that if you could see past my skin color we might get along.
