Hi my wife is going from Tijuana to Lima.

Her passport has her maiden name because well in Peru they don't change names for marriage and we are trying to figure out how to do it.

Her name on her American visa has her married name.

Since it's an International Flight, what name does she use on the name? We live in San Diego but she is going from Mexico to Peru.

Since she's returning to Mexico and she is Peruvian, she needs to have a Mexican Visa or an American Visa to enter Mexico... so that's why we are wondering about it.

What document will she use for international travel? Answer: Her PASSPORT. So the name on the ticket must match the name of the government issued ID used for international travel--i.e. her PASSPORT. The visa also MUST match the name of the document it is attached to or again her MAIDEN name. She might need a copy of the marriage certificate to show the airline people that she is the same person so they wil let her on the plane using her Advance Parole (AP). With a pending AOS, she will be using her AP for gaining re-entry into the US. The only thing I would worry about is if you waited for more than 180 days after the I-94 expired to file for AOS, then traveling on the AP might cause her to be denied re-entry to the US.

Good luck,

Dave

I'm not sure that this sheds any extra light on the situation, but Peruvians no longer need a visa to travel to Mexico. She will get into Mexico with no problem simply by showing her peruvian passport. As for the re-entry to the US i'm assuming it's her AP card that's in her married name, I would just bring the marriage certificate to show at the border to get back into the US in case they have a problem, but since in the US it's common to change your name after marriage, I don't think she will.
