What do you guys think

I am super bored and spend way too much time on here being abused by Penny:)

So I decided to apply for a part time job. maybe 15-20 hours a week in the AM,just to get out of the house. I applied at a couple of the big box home improvement stores and at a

local grocery chain to work in the Deli. like interacting with people.

Long story short, in order to apply, on line I might add, you have to give your SSN and DL#

Freaking A this seems a bit intrusive.

i mean i understand if they are interested and want to seriously consider me or hire me they need it. But to just drop an application that god knows who has access to.

That has become very common lately. What it does is eliminate the need to ask you for that information after you accept an offer. They already have it, so they go to the next step. It's about reducing costs, streamlining processes, blah blah blah.

All I'll say is, watch your credit report. Twice a year preferably.

The ssn# and dl# are for background and credit checks if the employer is so inclined to do one.

I think they want to pass initial screening for work eligibility, and need the info for E-Verify.

Out of curiosity, what do you do for your money if you're not working?

NB is independently wealthy, a Howard Hughes type if you will.

As long as you aren't required to show a photo ID, why should you worry? Joke, NM

Seriously, if you are dabbling in this slum-lord stuff then why not do some of the work yourself. "hire" yourself, skip the applications, SSN and work for the savings from not paying someone else. I think you were hiring illegals anyway, so you can "unemploy" a few of them, stop exploiting humans and DIY. Pocket the savings TAX FREE. A penny SAVED is a TAX FREE penny earned. You can still write off the materials you buy for the rental homes. Certainly you can find 20 hours work per week around your properties. Buy a mower and cut the grass! Your ROI will far surpass anything you can earn in a big box store.

The applications at the big box stores are 3 clicks more difficult than an I-129f so maybe get an attorney to fill it out for you.

This is also the only useful suggestion you had. If you need any other advice, you can PM me. Otherwise, hang around to be abused by oneliners in public forums dominated by low information wanna-be voters.
