K-1 Visa DS-230 Part I Confused!!!

Hi so we've recieved our like "Packet 3" Letter 2 Weeks ago and we're pretty much got all the evidence etc we need and completed the easy forms & copied.

1) We're just super confused what to do with the form DS-230 & DS-260. So we called NVC and asked which one I should do and they said, DS-260 which replaces DS-230 part 1 & 2. We then doubled checked with the London Embassy but there whole phone system for Immigrant Visa's is being changed at the moment, then I saw today going back on the website for the embassy that it says, If you recieved your instruction letter before September 1st (which I did) to do DS-230 Part 1.. So I'm assuming I just do DS-230 I don't want to waste time if then they send another letter back saying they want me to do the online DS-260!!

Ok next question (sorry I have a lot as we can't call the Embassy)

2) My letter says that I need to send off DS-230 Part I and not part 2, so what do I do with part 2? Do I Just fill it out & bring it to the Interview?

3) For form DS-230 Part I question 10 & 11. Long story short I'm planning hopefully on going to the USA after all this In April 2014, but my Fiance is moving In March 2014 to a different apt, so I can't fill out question 10 Is It ok If I put N/A for question 10? For question 11 Can I put a P.O. Box??

4) So I know the forms I need to send off and evidence etc for this but I'm not sure If i need to send anything else for example, passport photos, proof of employment or anything like that.

5) As for DS-2001 do I send this form off with everything else or later on?

6) DS-156 Also ask for ad address I will be staying at In the US, Must I fell that out or can I leave it blank? With an N/A

Anyway thats my questions for now anyway! Thaaank you so much for reading through it all!

Question 1: If you received your letter before Sep 1st, then you do the DS230, not the DS260.

Question 2: DS Part 1 and II are filled out, but I think they mean don't fill out the bottom part of part II which says on the form "Do not fill out below this line"

Not sure about question 3.

Not sure about question 4.

Question 5: DS2001 can be sent off all together, or later. It's a form telling them that you're ready for the interview. So unless you have EVERYTHING you need for the interview RIGHT NOW in your hands, don't fill it out and send.

Question 6: I would think you would need to fill that out. I'm not sure though.

I'm sure others on here will be able to answer the others better :)

1) do the DS-230. It will be fine.

2) DS-230 part 2 ? Throw it away. Not a K1 form.

3) Not looking at a form and you didn't provide what it says

4) Send only the DS forms. All documents, passport photos, certificates, proof of income goes with you to the

interview.

5) Either way. If you have every single document in hand, you can send with your DS application forms. Or you can send the applications ASAP, and have time to gather your documents. When you have them, send DS-2001 to say "Ready for Interview!".

6) Put your fiance's address. If she moves, then tell them at your interview you have a different place to live since you put the forms in.

Great thanks for all the help!

Well 3) for question 10 asks for the address I'll be staying at when I go to the USA & Question 11 asks what address to send my green card too.

Ok well for form DS-156K says that I need to attach certain documents like certificates and evidence of engagment & finanical support etc, Do i send that with that form or is that just for the interview?

Thanks!

Ok, I had time to pull up a form.

10. Says "if known" so you can say something like--

Unknown. Fiancé is moving before my arrival.

11. You won't get a greencard mailed to you based on this form. It is used for spouse visas too who will get a greencard mailed, so used for many visas. I would put--

N/A fiancé visa.

You're gonna jump through a lot more hoops and spend a lot more money before you get a greencard.

Your last question--

That is answered above because I was anticipating you asking that.

Repeat

4) Send only the DS forms. All documents, passport photos, certificates, proof of income goes with you to the interview.

Disregard what the form says. London does not want you to do that. That is what they are saying in the letter you got when it says do not mail any documents to this office unless requested. It just isn't very clear to most.

Yes, you should go with the new form because your letter isn't one that straddles the change over. The letter has not been updated. They aren't so good in London about changing everything. Those letters should have been ready to go Sept 1 when they were ready to switch forms. They didn't even provide the link on their website for the DS-260 until Sept 9, but said it should be used Sept 1. It is always a struggle to hit the embassy right at a changeover to a new policy.
