So i had my interview at London today. It was rather uneventful, got in about 10am to find that the interior of the consulate has changed since i had last been in (about 2 and a bit years ago). I have to say that is a lot better this way, there is less standing about waiting in line. Once inside i took a number and waited about an hour and a half to be called up the first time. At the window a lady just had me sign the forms and pay the visa fee. I then sat down again, probably for an hour? I was then called to the window for the interview with the consulate officer. The last time i had an interview (for a j-1) it was more formal, however this time it was nothing more than a casual chat. The chap was very nice and rather fun, and it turned out he lived in Georgia (where we shall live) for 7 years and we ended up having a chat about places (since i had lived there for a year). He didnt ask for any pictures or evidece, i just gave him the tax records and such and he was satisfied. At the end he wished me safe trip and i was then able to go pay the courier service. The interview was maybe 10 mins and everything was casual and smooth. All in all it was a very nice experience.

I leave back for Georgia Wednesday afternoon.

March 2nd- Sent package

March 7th- Receipt date/ checks cashed

March 15th- Notice of Biometrics for March 28th

March 16th- RFE for AOS posted online, still waiting for the actual letter in mail.

March 23rd- RFE letters arrived.

March 28th- Had Biometrics, all went smoothly.

April 9th- Informed that case processing has been resumed.

April 24th- AOS Transferred to CSC.

May 18th- Got the case pending at CSC email.

May 24th- EAD APPROVED.

Congratulations! Good to read about nice, painless London interviews, because that's where I'll be having mine (eventually)... what visa were you applying for? (Speaking of which... if you can fill in your timeline, that would help other people going through the process get some idea of waiting times at each stage, etc!)

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

Thank you for all the replies, i really appreciate all the positive feedback, as well as the help i have had since joining this forum. Everyone has been wonderful, and i cant sing the praises of visajourney enough.

As for my timeline, i cant give exact dates as i dont have all of the documents with me, but here is an estimate.

January- filed the original petition with USCIS, a K-1 visa.

Febuary/March- Informed the petition was approved

June/July - Informed the petition was denied by NVC, not enough evidence

July - Appealed the decision, included further evidence and it was successful.

August - Went back to USA

Early October - Family forwarded packet 3 to me, filled it in and returned it.

October 14th - Had ceremonial wedding at a lake, no papers actually signed (however recognised by us as our wedding

date).

November 2nd -fly home to uk for final steps.

Mid Movember - Packet 4 arrives.

December 8th -Interview date, succesful. Happy Times.

All in all it took us a good 11 months, but that was with the denial for lack of evidence at the start.
