yes I am like HoaPhong and I called the Dept of state every few days, and they told me that the wait is for the consulate to schedule it, then notify the beneficiary. I will have Linh email them again. I have decided to go for the New Year holiday, (not the lunar) and go back again when her visa is in had as it could be 4 more months. We will take in the New year from a skybar and room overlooking the River and then take her parents to tour a bit in Thailand, Bangkok and Pataya and enjoy ourselves a bit of time together. I think that will reinforce us a bit for additional wait time.

You have to wait more 2 months later and call DOS or send email to Consulate around Feb 18 Be patient, have good results

does anyone else also know how long it takes to give the visa once we pass so we can get the plane ticket scheduled for

Usually 10 days after interview. However, It could take longer depending on each case, so I would not recommend to buy ticket without visa in your hand.

Do NOT buy the ticket before you get the visa in hand.. change fees are much higher than anything you could save by buying early.

Received phone call from consulate today telling me was moving the date back 10 days to Feb 6 talk about disappointing was hoping to have the visa in hand by that time so we could be together for valentines day... Sigh

Merry Christmas. So sorry for you. But you can make an another Valentines day by yourself. Be happy because both of you will be together soon. And if you get pink on Jan 27, you also have to wait for visa, after Tet (lunar new year) because post office will be closed on Jan 28. Don't disappointed. Good luck! When did your fiance submit P3?

Interview scheduled 1/27. Won't be in time for Valentine's Day oh well. Received instruction package in early September. Can you believe that 4 months just to schedule an interview.
