Today we received our NOA2 in the mail. There are some things I don't understand, it's in the comment part in the first sentence it reads: "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate." But there is no consulate listed on the I-797 letter.

questions:

1) I thought NVC was the next stop in the K1 process after the NOA2?

2) Is there usually a consulate listed on the NOA2?

3) Has anyone else had their Petition forwarded from USCIS directly to the consulate?

4) Should I be concerned about any of this or just be patient and wait?

I had this problem too and called USCIS and the NVC. It doesn't specify which consulate, but it's the consulate you indicated on the visa petition. It goes to the NVC first and the forward it electronically to the consulate and mail your documents there too. That letter is somewhat misleading in that regard. I hope this helps!

You got a normal approval notice.

Also, your approved petition will go to the NVC before it's sent to Manila.

About two weeks after USCIS approval, you should start calling the NVC in order to get your MNL case number. Don't wait for the Embassy to send your beneficiary an instructions letter because that will waste a month or more of your time. Instead, once you have your MNL case number, you can pay the visa application fee at BPI, schedule an interview appointment, and complete the medical.

If you want to read the Embassy letter, it's right here: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/19452/public/Revised%20K1%20Instruction_rtf2_rtf2_001.pdf

The NOA2s all state that but all petitions are forwarded to NVC, then NVC affixes the MNL # and forwards the case file to USEM in your case.
