LAX is the worst Tom Bradley Terminal is old and outdated and can't handle the flow.

I was in-line for over two hours and missed my connection and had to spend the night!!

So make sure you have a long layover so you can POE.

The recheck baggage belt is right before you exit to go out of the terminal area.

There are shuttle buses to the other terminals and then you have to go through TSA scanning to enter the other terminal where slip on comfortable shoes you will have to take them on and off at x-ray welcome to the USA so confusing but good luck.

Congrats on getting your visa.

I got my passport and visa on Sept. 10th, 7 working days after my interview.. My flight is on the 20th. No change of airlines just that, I'll have two layovers before I arrive in New York, where my fiance will pick me up. My first stop is Japan then will transfer to another flight and fly to LA then will have another flight again that goes to NY. My question is, I know when I get to Japan, I don't need to go to the conveyor and retrieve my bags since my destination is USA. My question is when I get to California (my second lay over), which is obviously a US State already, do I have to retrieve my bags and check them in again for my New York travel? or from Manila, my bags would go straight to New York? I'm really lost. I haven't done flights with lay over, it's usually a direct flight.. so please help.. thanks!

thanks guys! I appreciate all the help. I have to familiarize myself with LAX since it's a big airport. Another question for those who have experienced this already. When I get to LA, immigration might ask for my visa packet. Will the packet be returned to me? I was thinking what if the immigration in JFK airport ask for the packet again..

Once you clear immigration in LA the flight to NYC is a domestic flight, so your passport will only be needed for ID, there is no need to go through immigration as you are traveling within the same country.
