I am glad that you found it useful. As it happened, I just got my stuff today.

A fair amount of the boxes that I used were severely damaged. I used boxes that had been moved during previous moves as well, and they could not stand up to the handling. So, if you decide to go with a 'groupage' shipment in a shared container, ensure your boxes are super sturdy!

We lost a chess board - it cracked, but that was it, I think.

I was concerned about water damage and paper-eating vermin since 90% of what we shipped were books, but nothing of the sort seems to have happened, so I'm quite pleased with how it went.

Just one more annotation from me: I had also been very worried that DHL might damage my packages, especially since my packages were so heavy. I used supersturdy boxes (the ones that have multiple layers of cardbox) and put tape all around the outside. I also put clothes, blankets and towels all around my belongings inside the box to soften up possible damage from handling by DHL. All boxes arrived safely and without any damage.

I moved my books (veterinary medicine book are very expensive and I'll need them for having my Italian graduation recognized), my best clothes and few more stuff. I've done it trough a moving company, I asked many quotes and I chose the cheaper one that was bliss moving and logistics

- Civil wedding: September 10th, 2012

- I130 sent to the USCIS in Chicago on January 2013, while my husband was deployed

- Interview at the consulate in Naples, Italy in August 2013

- In the US since November 18th, 2013

- Green card in my mailbox on January 9th, 2014
