its a lot like the supermarket

you all go to pay at about the same time, but get in different lines

then you are subject to cashier and customer variables in front of you

everyone leaves at a different time

And I've always gotten in the wrong line so it figures. lol

I'm on week 6 next week.

I've been told that nobody will really investigate unless you pass the 8 week mark.

If I get to 8 weeks I'll send an email to my congressman.

Does your status on USCIS change when they send it to NVC? Is it pointless to even be calling when it still says:

Post Decision Activity

The NVC instructed me to call the CSC and I said "do you think that will help?" The man paused and said, "give us a call back next week, it should be here soon". haha...

Basically until it goes over their timeline its a waste of time to try and track your file down.

I can't complain, our NOA2 was very speedy so I guess it all evens out.

It took a month and a week for us to get NVC case number.

NOA2 was AUG 7 from CSC, got case number today.

My signature for your reference.

Did you receive a notification that your case has actually been forwarded to NVC?

We had emailed NVC for an update instead of calling, this is the answer we got. So we scanned and sent it today.

"Please be advised that the National Visa Center (NVC) has received your
inquiry. Unfortunately, we do not have any record of receiving your
petition. If your petition was approved more than 15 days ago, please
email a scanned copy of your I-797 or I-171 Notice of Action - Approval
Notice to NVCResearch@state.gov. Please type the receipt number in the
subject line of your email and include one attachment/case per email. We
will contact U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on your
behalf to locate your petition."

I responded to that email twice and sent a copy of the NOA2. Each time they responded with the "we haven't received it yet and it may take up to 8 weeks"

So basically its giving people a false sense that they'd investigate...when they do not unless it's past 8 weeks. Even though they state 15 days in the response.

All we can do is wait.

Thanks for the update Sheepwalk, did you get a notification when they sent out the file to NVC?

Hi Collnin and jlsuther,

no, we always found out our case status by calling CIS or DoS.

Though fiance registered with E-notification with CIS...

Maybe his register didn't work properly.

Someone on VJ wrote he/she could confirm file trasfer on USCIS "Check My Case Status" site but this shouldn't be the case. Ours are still the same Post Decision Activity.
