I-130 Transfer Notice error?!..

Hello VJ, this is my first post in the forum, much of a reader not a writer.. but in this case im confused about something and seeking for your guys help...

On Sept 9, we received a e-mail of a Case Status update, saying that our case was transferred to a local field office for further processing (like a few of other VJ members... )

Today my husband received a NOA: Transfer Notice , all the personal info, receipt # , address was correct, but the message of the notice states something about scheduling an interview at an office...that doesnt match with our situation cause im in the Dominican Republic.

Here is the message:

"Preliminary processing of the above application of petition has been completed, and it has been transferred to the USCIS office at:

Nebraska Service Center, P. O. BOX 82521, Lincoln , NE 68501-2521

That office will notify you when they schedule an interview on the application or petition. Any further inquiries should be made to that office."

Any idea of why it says that?.. a content error, or something?.. Anyone has received the same type of letter?!... Should we contact USCIS??

Is it your I130 filed by your spouse? If so, I think only he needs to go for the interview at the field office. Just my logical answer. Not an expert in immigration related issues.

Sounds like he may want to contact USCIS to find out why they would schedule him for another state. Like you said, probably just a mistake, but best to follow up with them.

I130 is filed by the LPR spouse and if there are any issues, the LPR spouse will be called for an interview. I am an LPR and I filed I130 for my wife. The case has been transferred to a local USCIS office and I expect an interview or an RFE since I just submitted a photocopy of our marriage certificate. Since you are the beneficiary and your husband is the petitioner, most probably he will be called for an interview at a field office in around NY.

In Aug 2013, many cases were transferred from VSC to NSC or local USCIS field office due to workload.

"That office will notify you when they schedule an interview on the application or petition. Any further inquiries should be made to that office."

The interview will be in around his place of residence.

It may be an error.

Because,usually they schedule interview for those who are in US and adjusting their status under F2A.

So,tell your husband to contact USCIS.

As far as i know,they schedule interview for those application in which beneficiary is in US.

Its not the case in ours. Then,why it is showing like this?

As you previously advised, better call USCIS.
