And they all pretend to be religious to get elected...then get caught screwing, stealing or lying. It's just a scam to make the simple folks feel good.

I hate when people use religion in advertising their bussiness. Turns me off

There is a new trend here. People advertise on their signs, A veteran works here, or veteran owned. i think that is BS also.

A. As a veteran i don't think it makes you any better than anyone else

B..It whores out the whole idea of service...yes i served so let me make a quick buck Disgusting.

I am inclined to agree, people think because they served in the military, they are exempt from all kinda of things that have nothing to do with the military.

We have one guy with a sign in his yard pulling "military service" ####### because his property is getting taken by imminent-domain to widen a road.

I also served and expect nothing that was not part of the deal when I signed up.

It wouldn't surprise me. I'd leave the country.

We wouldn't let you. The draft designed just for you would fail without you. Your departure would mean policy failure. You have to stay. You have to serve. I hope you will enjoy setting 6 year olds on fire. Don't worry, they deserve it.

I'd probably be so hated by my fellow soldiers that I'd have died of ambiguously friendly fire well before the setting 6 year olds on fire part of my job comes into play.

What would Xenu do?

It bothers the hell out of me too but not for the reason most people might suspect.

For example, I once saw a lawyer who advertised that he was Christian by putting the fish symbol in his ad with "Christian lawyer" under it.

Now, Im an atheist so maybe I'm misunderstanding, but isn't religion supposed to be, oh, I don't know... holy and sacred? Isn't using faith to advertise and promote a business a bit demeaning of said faith? If I were religious I would probably be pretty offended by it. Here is this thing that is supposed to be the source of all truth, love, and beauty, encompassing the beginning and end of the universe and everything within it, and they're using it to attract more customers.

I guess the whole point is "hey, I'm like you, so I'm trustworthy!" but that still seems just downright sleazy.

I also scratch my head over the fact that a certain mall clothing store puts Bible quotes on the bottom of their shopping bags. On the outside... you know, the bit no one sees, and the part that touches the floor when you set the bag down.

All persons in the US should experience a structured environment, whether it is the military, prison, or a fundamental orthodox religion.

Well, they can fall back on that if they miss out on being given a structured childhood and education.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

He was advertising the fact that he's not Jewish.

Or the "We support the troops!"

Like the other option is "We think the troops suck!"

Many different business and sports make a mockery out of the military. When I got back from boot camp in my uniform nobody gave two sh!ts about someone in the military...now they fall all over themselves to show how patriotic they are with bumper sticker or some add for their business.

Wanna be a real patriot? Stop them from getting killed in stupid @ss conflicts with no end game.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.
