If you received the email from the embassy saying they have it and with instructions then pay the fee and register on the traveldocs website. Afterward it could be as soon as the week after that you can get one. At least that was our case, though we opted to wait a few more weeks, but the potential for a next week interview was there.

We didnt get an email from the embassy as of yet, thats what I am wondering. Our Status says "ready" followed by the following:

Immigrant Visa Case Number: MOSXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Case Creation Date: 06-Sep-2013 Status Updated Date: 12-Sep-2013
Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html
I am wondering to how long before they send the "appointment letter" or Email. So we know when the interview is scheduled.
THANKS !

It's difficult to say and it could take up to 2 weeks or perhaps longer. When we received that message we went ahead and paid the interview fee but we waited until the embassy contacted us before scheduling the interview.

So, the appointment letter IS the invitation letter required for the interview as mentioned on the traveldocs website?

When you receive this letter, you can actually schedule an appointment with the embassy. After scheduling an interview on ustraveldocs, print the confirmation page with info about your interview

Thank you so much! I was confused about that a little bit. I guess we do need to wait for the letter from Embassy saying they are ready to see me :) And I do speak Russian :) Thanks!

Спасибо Вам большое за ответ!

So, the appointment letter IS the invitation letter required for the interview as mentioned on the traveldocs website?

On the TravelDocs site you will pay for the visa through the Russian Standard Bank (by credit card). When (after about two days you will see on the site it was paid) you will be able to set up your interview and print your receipt with the bar code on it. That is the only thing you will need for your interview along with your documents of course.

Good Luck!:)

Thank you so much for answer!

Glad to be able to help.:)Just remember the only thing you will get from the Embassy is a letter that asks you to set up an interview. There will be no other 'packets' for a K1 visa. Also when you go to pay for the visa itself you will look for it under the immigrant visa section even though it is a non-immigrant visa.

The Embassy in Moscow is very highly rated and they are very polite as well. So don't worry you will get your visa if all the paperwork is in order!:)

Good Luck!:)
