It sucks guys, but we just can't compare K1 with CR1s. You guys know that K1s are approved way quicker than CR1. No one expected I130s to take this long, but we did know it would take longer than K1. Don't torture yourselves by looking at those other cases.

It just makes no sense. You'd think there'd be some sort of advantage in getting married and then submitting an I-130. It's so dumb. And why on earth are the service centers not processing I-130s anymore? They obviously are moving very fast and it makes no sense why they can't even the workload out among all of them for both K-1s and CR1s. Yet no, we're all sent to the NBC and made to wait and wait and wait....

The advantage is you have the right to work as soon as you enter the country. You don't have to adjust status. And that seemed like it was worth it, back when cases were taking 8 months to visa in hand. Instead of 8+ months just to get NOA2.

Exactly. It's not like that anymore, so it seems kind of pointless. Either way, you'd think getting married would always have the upper hand.

Yes, but there has been a few I-130 petitions approved at CSC recently. 2 weeks from NOA1 to NOA2.

Just proves it is possible to adjudicate I-130 in a timely manner.

So, why can't we compare?

At least we know now how long it takes to actually adjudicate an I-130... Less than 2 weeks :P

I can't believe that they're processing the files in the order that they were received when I see that some that were filed after me have been processed already. If I hadn't married my husband 7 1/2 years ago (here in the states, even.) and had filed for a fiance' visa, he'd be here already. It's insanity. And I attribute it to them giving us no recourse and having no oversight for them, and no repercussions at all when they don't do what they're paid to do. Something has to be done to fix this situation. They're screwing with people's lives and families and it's just not right.
