I-130 MARCH 2013 FILERS!! NBC

On the "check my status" website they are now saying the National average processing time for the 1-130 is 16.6 months! Can this be true?

Yesterday is was 9.5 months.

Maybe since it took them so long to update that status, the processing will pick up and those number really don't mean anything. I don't know how they can call those numbers "current"

I sent an email to my attorney asking what he has heard about the delays. Since he is off on Friday and Saturday, I don't expect an answer til Sunday. He will get back to me though. He's good like that.

Just got this same fun response that everyone else is getting from my congressman who inquired about my case:

"After a review of our systems it was found that Case MSC ******, Form I-130 filed on behalf of ****** is currently pending at the NBC. Based on the current volume of pending immigrant visa petitions, our current processing time for I-130s is approximately 6 months from the date of this response.

NBC will review and adjudicate I-130 Immediate Relative requests for expedite (if the file is located at the NBC.) If you request your case be expedited the case will need meet USCIS expedite criteria. All expedite requests must be accompanied by supporting documents that demonstrate that one or more of the expedite criteria have been met. Information regarding the expedite criteria can be found at the link below."

I don't know why I expected anything different. But I will admit, I had a glimmer of hope that something could be done. And I am a bit disappointed.

I wonder what they meant exactly with this: that your petition would take extra 6 months from now? Or that petitions are in average expected to take 6 months? The first option sounds fairly horrible, eh.

It look like they are using the day you got the note on September 20. Now add six months will be processed in March 2014.

Yeah that's what I assumed. A lot of people are getting that response so I'm not too worried about it taking until March '14. It seems like most have been approved around 7 or 8 months, so that's what I'm hoping for. I guess.

Are they all going to be 6 months form the date of the notice? What if a Feb filer inquires? Do they have to wait 6 more months? And if a Sept filers inquires, Will they get the same answer? Totally agree. I doubt that they even try inquiring about our petition. I received the same response last week from my senator's office.

When I complain to my mom about how long it takes she says they probably put these ridiculous time frames so that they can't miss their cut off. Ya know? If they say it'll take another 6 months for petition approval, when they do it in less than another 6 months they're on time! That and to just shut us up for another 6 months.

I prefer an honest response. Even if it's "hey, we're so lame at our job we have no idea when you'll be approved or where your file is."

hubby called USCIS last friday and was told that missouri has a lot of backlogged jobs and even their service request won't be processed that fast and it will take them a month or two. Does NBC normally process I-130? We mailed the state senator and if we received the same letter as everyone does will be mailing the congressman and will surely asked why we have the same letter as everyone received and will tell him if this is their way of just keeping us quiet for a few more months. This is just insane, it seems they are making a fool out of everyone!!

I mailed both don't was your time. They are to busy shutting down the Government. Their volunteer aid does the inquires. They do not work for us unless you have a big contribute.

This is a nightmare. I'm never going to be with my wife. People saying we should never have all gotten married were right Isn't that terrible how they can process a fiance visa for someone who isn't even a relative faster than they can a spousal visa? Blows my mind....

Hows it going, Im a newbie. I filed in March, bought a book on amazon (Fiance & Marriage Visas: A Couple's Guide to U.S. Immigration) thats been guiding me through the process. Ive just been catching up on this message board that I discovered today. I filed the I-130 for my wife and son. The only letter I received was from Chicago office. I check frequently online and assume everything is going good just taking forever. Is that an incorrect assumption? Says its still being processed. Fortunately im in a little different position were Im staying overseas with my wife and son while we go through this process. My family is filipino and were currently living in Kuwait applying for our I-130. Just wanted to say hello since were all stuck in this same long drawn out process.

Welcome! Yes, the process is just taking an extremely long time. I'm now hoping for an approval at 7 or 8 months. That seems to be the current trend.

You're lucky you're with your family abroad while going through the process. I'm with my husband in Costa Rica as well right now.

No senator, no congressman is going ot help from what I learned. It doesnt matter which party they belong to. Only thing that can help is money.
