Guys after receiving NOA1 what do we do?

start of the long wait I guess. :innocent:

I was wondering... if our I130 is approved, does that mean we automatically selected the IR/CR visa or o we have the option to go for K3?

In order to try for the K3, you'd have to file a I-129f with your I-130, but it's a useless cause. K3 are obsolete nowadays and are very rarely approved. On the off chance that the original petition gets approved at the USCIS level, NVC will close the case after seeing that you have an I-130 on file. Some people even speculate that filing an I-129f even slows down the processing for your I-130, so you might end up waiting even longer than if you'd just left it as an IR-1/CR-1.

If you've already gotten your NOA2 for the I-130, you're almost at the end, anyway.

I filed my 130 in U.S for my wife and son living abroad in march 12 and received my i797c on march 19. Its been almost 6 weeks since i last heard from them. Is this normal wait time or should i call them up? Also, does this make me a march or april filer? Thank you

I don't think we'll see any NOA2s for a while. Some lucky Feb filers have been getting through in about 2 months. So if there's any lucky ones here, you'd still have another month to wait!

Littonifed- really, it's going to be a while. I'm expecting a 6 month wait. And I filed from abroad (which are usually processed in about 2-3 months). I figure by the middle or end of May I'll call USCIS just to see where my file is.

No Sir, I wouldn't be worried yet.

Keep checking e-mail/mail; it is on it's way. I myself filed in March 12 and still waiting and there are a lot of members here filed before us and they are also waiting. List I provided might have some special circumstances...but give it some time it will come and another wait will start.

I filled in March my date is March 19 for my NOA1. If you check at the bottom of your time line visajourney has a projection for your NOA2. My is Based on timeline data, my I130 may be adjudicated between June 16, 2013 and July 11, 2013*. I hope this is right. I am going to Brazil to see my wife for her birthday and girls during those months. Will be back in USA in middle of July. I also getting some of the document I need for processing their DS-230 like my wife police report and signatures on the DS-230 applications. I making sure that all the information is update and correct. I think I have everything else ready to process. I thinking positive they will be approved. good.gif

My understanding is that US Citizens (Petitioners) if they have their home address outside of the US, meaning they are not living in the US and filed for IR1/Cr1 for their spouse, they get approved in roughly 40 working days. However, if the US Citizen has the home address in the US and has been living in the US, they have a long long wait.

I still know people with July/Aug 2012 i130 NOA1 waiting for NOA2, These guys were not even given any RFE yet and their status online just says Initial Review.

My wife filed for me in Dec 2012 and we are still waiting for NOA2.

Hope that helps!
