KP & SP we are trying to clarify it right now, because it seems like the representative are just trying to get out of the phone. What is a service request intended for? I read a topic here that they dont issue a service request just like that. It is really frustrating to call them and you are put on hold for a minimum of 30 mins. and a maximum of like more or less 4 hours and once they pick up they just drop it.

Did they create a service request? Most likely it was a service request which they respond exactly within 14 days +/- 2 days. Or, if you are lucky a NOA 2.

lucybelle I dont know anymore. We are trying to clarify it.

I worry it's the letter informing us that it will now take up to 12 months for petition approval. Lots of April filers have already received this letter.

This is so sad. Looking at the Igor's list, only 13 people have received NOA2 this month from NBC. And august is almost over cray5ol.gif

I bet they were all over seas. No one who lives in the US. The government said they want to keep families together but they only approve people who are together. Is this a oxymoron?

Four days since I sent an email to my senator and Congressman, no words yet from them.

Politicians or Government don't really care. They give easy solution when they run for the office. The solution that can buy them votes. They don't specify who will pay for that solution.

In our case we are paying. Patiently.

Ditto, and i think this is true for any country. These people beg for your mercy and when they get what they want then everything stops but their own selfishness.

Creation of Service Request sometimes is a CSR's choice. Normally they would not create one for you unless you are beyond their processing time... which they don't have a processing time for NBC so technically no service request would be created.

BUT, if one is created then I don't know exactly what happens behind the scene but in theory they are supposed to look at the file and let you know what is going on with it within 14 days.

KP & SP So we clarified it, it was a service request. My hubby did not even requested for it but the representative made one. We don't know what was his reason. We also talked to the supervisor of the tier2 just to informed him that most of the customer service representative are rude (once you are on the phone with tier 1 or tier 2 never ever forget asking for there name and ID number, you'll need it to file complaints if they are being rude). But going back to the supervisor, he answered our questions and he also confirmed the service request and gave us a reference number.

To make the matter better or worse; 12 K1 approved on the 27th of August alone per Igor's list. This is insane, shouldn't have been married should have filed K-1 and waited to get married.

I am happy for all the one's that are approved and where is our turn? Punishment for being married? Come on people...

Totally agree with you. You would think that being married and providing enough evidence of legal marriage would increase your chances but instead it looks like they just want to give out the visa to engaged people but not to the people who have gone through the marriage process. Nothing against K1 approval but I just think there is no method to how USCIS work.

I really hope that there has been more than 13 NOA2 approval this month, and people have just forgot to update it here. Otherwise at this rate I don't know how long it will take to start the approval for march filers.

K1 is for sure non immigrant visa but what difference does it make? Shouldn't immigrant visa be processed the in the same timeframe? They can look into the evidence as close as they want to verify but files shouldn't be sitting somewhere iat NBC for six months.

This is insane.

Oh no! That's terrible.

I'm the beneficiary, wife of USC.
12/30/2012: Got engaged.
1/16/2013: Got married in India.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.
4/18/2014: Sent email to NVC Research to locate the case.
4/22/2014: Petitioner sent email to NSCFollowup
5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.
5/27/2014: Petitioner received response from NSCFollowup that the case was pending an internal extended review. Really?
6/19/2014: USCIS case status change, "On June 19, 2014, we shipped this case..."
7/1/2014: Case received at NVC.
7/14/2014: NVC case number assigned.
8/1/2014: AOS and IV fees invoiced.
8/2/2014: AOS and IV fees paid.
8/5/2014: AOS and IV fees status changed to paid.
8/6/2014: AOS and IV packages mailed, completed and submitted DS-260.
8/7/2014: AOS and IV packages delivered to NVC.
8/8/2014: AOS and IV packages put into the system (scanned).
9/20/2014: Get the 60-day email.
9/30/2014: Case Complete!
10/3/2014: Interview scheduled for November 7.
10/20/2014: Medical appointment.

11/07/2014: Interview.

11/29/2014: POE JFK.

Normally takes about 2 weeks for USCIS to respond to congressman's office even though their target is 5 days...

Oh did i said that out loud? Well actually they don't have any target if they did we would have been half way through the NVC by now. :)
