(Friend, it's prohibited to speak any language apart from English on this site, aside from the Latin America subforum, which is found here: http://www.visajourn...-south-america/

The answer to your question: all documents needed for the NVC stage must be originals, so both the birth certificate and marriage certificate have to be the long versions that were originally hand written. I'm not entirely sure where these documents can be found in Colombia, but you can go to the Latin America forum to ask other Colombians, who can be more helpful. And please, in the future, write all your comments in English so that everyone can understand and help.)

I have read that your documents can be certified or originals. These are the only ones Military and Police report that have to be originals.

I meant originals as in not a photocopy, but a certified copy. For birth/marriage certificates, they have books where they write all the information and keep their records, so technically even the "original" would be a certified copy, since they're obviously not going to rip the page out of the original record book.

why nobody answered or shared any experiences regarding error of name of the petitioner? we are quite disappointed to experience this coz we wrote our names clearly with supporting docs.

Call and ask them to change it. They got my address wrong and after calling multiple times they refuse to change it. So I contacted the ombudsman. They should be able to change your name I would think.

Filed from Canada on March 8th.

NOA1 received on Mar 12. File seems to be at NBC (file # starts with MSC which apparently is the same as NBC)

Still waiting for NOA2.

Looks like some people are getting approved in under 40 days. I wonder if approval times are still that quick.

Fingers crossed.

Thank you. yes, we did call and spoke with IO and she managed to change petitioner's name on file ( since our case is already at NBC) and advised us to follow-up in 15 days with the confirmation number given and so an update to our case.

I'm sorry, but why does everyone think they'll get their NOA2 so quickly? By May or June? I'd be over the moon. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm confused. I thought the wait for NOA2 was around 6 months!

late Feb Filers have already been showing a great deal of NOA2 activity on that thread.....I think that's a good sign
