Guys we should start seeing more case adjudicated towards the end of September - so I was told by an officer who said NBC in Lee's Summit Misourri in sending all I-130 to its new location in Overland Park Kansas. The I-130 transition, staffing and training of staff should be complete by September. We will be seeing a few random adjudicated cases from now until September. Then NBC will then resume normal processing of I-130. I was told that I should expect to hear from NBC about my petition (PD 04/03/2013) the first week of October.

In the mean time, I intend to contact Senator Brown's office once my case hits 5 months with USCIS. Two weeks after the 5 months, I will contact one my house of representative member and the 2 weeks after that (at 6 months), if I still don't hear from USCIS, I will contact my other house of representative member. I will push all the buttons I can, hoping to see something done with my petition.

I just came back from and INFOPASS.

The lady told me it takes 5 months before I-130's are approved. She looked at my case in her system and told me that my case is 'Assigned to the file room' four days ago on August 16.

I asked her what is file room and she said file room is where the file waits to be assigned to the officer for adjudication. According to her my case will be adjudicated in next 30 days.

I hope she is correct.

I wish she was saying the truth and not bluffing.

This seems to be in agreement with the NBC-AILA meeting trascript that's posted here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/448502-national-benefits-center-semiannual-aila-meeting/

If this comes to pass, then it's good news for us I-130 petitioners. Finally, we can get some kind of an estimate that we can plan around...maybe.

Maybe on September 9, I get a birthday present in my inbox..."On September 9, 2013 we have FINALLY, we mean FINALLY; decided after seeing you suffer all these months waiting and waiting...that we are going to APPROVE your I-130....and now you shall wait and wait at NVC. And hope that you don't bug us again..."

Sorry VJ Members, I know i shouldn't be sarcastic about our situation but I would like to see smile on our faces once in a while. I know for the past few months it had been hard to be separated from our loved ones but what actually could we do? Let's just hope we see our approvals soon and a smile on our loved ones when you convey the message.

KP & SP, thank you for the much needed laugh, really needed it in these stressful times.

KP & SP and stlMac, your spouses are lucky in that you will be meeting them soon, even if it meant taking unpaid leave. It shows that you put your spouses above everything else. Some of us are not so lucky. My spouse keeps making plans to visit and they don't work out. My spouse now intends to come when I have the visa so that we could both fly back together. The way things are right now, it could take anywhere from 7 to 9 months more before I have my visa.

Did anyone tried calling USCIS today or lastweek? How come there waiting time is already close to 4-5 hours? Once they pick up, it dropped. Anyone experiencing this? I knew someone who filed January of this year, up until now they havent heard anything from USCIS.

No not recently. Well, maybe it will continue to increase to 8-9 hrs that way they don't have to answer our calls.

You might be right. They are very rude on the phone. I noticed that most of the time. May be during INFOPASS they don't want to be rude so gives an answer that makes us happy. Who knows?

I filed in January and still have not received an approval. All the stories I am hearing on this board about March and April filers getting approved soon seems like wishful thinking..sorry to say. I hope we all get approved sooner than later but I believe the budget cuts is the main reason for this delay. Officers probably are working shorter hours and not enough staff to process petitions.
