Friend, this is nothing but merely an email that indicates that you created a service request. In about 2 weeks you will most likely get an another e-mail indicating that you will have to wait another 6 months. Yeah, happened to me exactly that. I am not trying to discourage you just sharing my experience. Hope you get your approval soon and as always good luck to you and all the I-130 filers.

I called USCIS and talked to a tier 2 officer today. I asked what the status of my application was, and he said that it is still pending approval and the agents will not even start looking at my application till 6months. It will be 5months on Aug 25 since i have applied for my husband. I asked the Tier 2 person is this normal. He said that it typically takes 6months to 1 year for an approval. I hope I hear something next month. mad.gifmad.gifClockWatch2.gifClockWatch2.gif

I always doubt the credibility of Tier 2. Few things crosses my mind every time I speak to Tier 2.

1. He/She does not have enough information to provide.

2. He/She gets bugged down by us calling them for status update and they just want to get off the phone and actually do some work i.e. jokes and coffee/smoke breaks.

3. He/She does not know how to navigate through different systems. Maybe do not know what a keyboard and mouse is, probably he/she is just giving a blank stare at the mouse or keyboard.

4. Finally, THEY JUST DON'T WANT TO HELP.

Or maybe we are just expecting good news and there isn't any so we get upset.

As for me, I have been calling every week to get a status update and talk directly to Tier 2. Made 4 infopass appointment...the answer is usual "WAIT and WAIT"....so frustrating.

I just came back from and INFOPASS.

The lady told me it takes 5 months before I-130's are approved. She looked at my case in her system and told me that my case is 'Assigned to the file room' four days ago on August 16.

I asked her what is file room and she said file room is where the file waits to be assigned to the officer for adjudication. According to her my case will be adjudicated in next 30 days.

I hope she is correct.

This is interesting because my file was assigned to an adjudicator on June 11th 2013.

Nothing was mentioned about the file room, maybe assigned adjudicator moves the file to file room and then something " A MIRACLE" happens? It is very frustrating that a simple process "adjudication of a petition" is sometimes referred to as "A MIRACLE"

Maybe on September 9, I get a birthday present in my inbox..."On September 9, 2013 we have FINALLY, we mean FINALLY; decided after seeing you suffer all these months waiting and waiting...that we are going to APPROVE your I-130....and now you shall wait and wait at NVC. And hope that you don't bug us again..."

Sorry VJ Members, I know i shouldn't be sarcastic about our situation but I would like to see smile on our faces once in a while. I know for the past few months it had been hard to be separated from our loved ones but what actually could we do? Let's just hope we see our approvals soon and a smile on our loved ones when you convey the message.

"and now you shall wait and wait at NVC. And hope that you don't bug us again...""

I laughed reading your post. I know the frustration. I feel the same way. I see my wife crying every time I talk to her on tango or skype. I hate it but nothing I can do about it. JJust to divert her attention, I am planning two weeks visit to India in October. So right now we are more looking forward to meet in OCtober.

Hopefully by then our file is already at NVC stage.

Did you try finding out what is going on? IF your file is assigned for the adjudicator in June you should have it approved by now. Did you have any infopasslately?

Same here, planning to leave on October 10th for Dashara...

I have exhausted all my vacation for this year so most likely have to take unpaid vacation.

So far, I had 4 infopasses (I live 15 minutes away from USCIS office) and countless calls to NBC but I haven't called them recently but thinking about giving them a buzz tomorrow and I know what the answer would be but it would be very plesent to hear from Tier 2, wouldn't it?
