and another thing someone said this

This is collecting information on a site that isn't a govenment site and the petition is someone whining that they have to wait on their ilegal wife getting a 601 waiver. Personally I am totally against illegals getting any break and think it should be mandatory that they serve their entire ban and then raise the bar on waivers to make them bearly impossible.

Just out of curiousity: have you read what the text in the petition says?..

I'm the beneficiary.

Hi! I tried opening the link from the petition thing but it won't open. But the guy was able to check on it and he said that the 601 is a waiver for spouses that were staying in the states illegally.

I tried opening it right now using a different browser and i was able to open it, this is the title of of that link " Provisional Unlawful Presence Waivers of Inadmissibility for Certain Immediate Relatives", so basically the link and the petition has nothing to do with the visa that we are filing.

Ok, here goes, so you can read it for yourself before quoting others:

"Make immigration simple.

Immigration is a hot topic among politicians in our day. We courageously step forward with a simple plan to begin resolving the complex issues.

We believe that making legal immigration simple will resolve many of the nation's immigration problems. Red tape, and long wait times, discourage honest individuals seeking permanent residence.

The DHS proposed rules in January (https://federalregister.gov/a/2012-140) and April (https://federalregister.gov/a/2012-7698) that would make the I-601 easier on couples separated by immigration proceedings. While we applaud such changes, we ask for more.

Please introduce additional improvements which will allow families to spend less time apart during the I-130 and other steps in the process. While many immigrants would like to conform with immigration law, the current system is hard on families. After my wife and I went to Mexico to visit her parents, she was not allowed to return. I had to return to my job in the USA. If we chose not to go to Mexico we might have done the I-130 here, but then we would not have seen her family. It is hard to understand why any paperwork should separate families for so long.

Dedicated to: my wife, families separated, those seeking a better life, and all US citizens who believe in the American dream

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

More information about I-130 http://www.uscis.gov/i-130

Current wait times are said to average 5 months.

The I-130 is only one step in one process to obtain permanent residence.

We support overall simplification, and have chosen to focus this petition on the I-130 to make things simple. You can also sign two petitions regarding the I-601 Waiver that will shorten the time families are kept apart: http://www.change.org/petitions/president-barack-obama-implement-the-i-601-provisional-waiver-now andhttp://www.change.org/petitions/mr-president-about-your-proposed-new-immigration-rule-more-faster-please"

There is a little part about 601 but mainly it is about I-130 we're filing for. I marked the relevant parts bold.

I'm the beneficiary.

Well, thanks for posting that one. When I tried checking on that link, it did not prompt me to that page.Instead it opened the page saying "Provisional Unlawful Presence Waivers of Inadmissibility for Certain Immediate Relatives". So when that person here on vj told me that, that link is merely for people who stayed in the US illegally, I kinda got confused. So i wanted to make sure that's why I posted what he said here and see what your opinion is and asked a friend of mine to open it on his computer if he could open the link and he was able to open it and it contained the same thing that you posted here and I wanted to delete my previous quote but it won't allow me. I don't have any means of frustrating people, which I know a lot already is.

@deltagal i did do some research. that's why I posted what he said here just to make sure it wasn't true. I don't have any means of frustrating you.

Just talked to Teir2 Officer. My case is still pending but she also said that I should hear something by the end of the August. When I asked her if they are going to transfer my case to the local field office she said if they need any further evidence then only they will transfer it to the local office.

I'm afraid she just told you that to get you off the phone. They often do that! I filed a petition for a parent in January and still have not received approval! They sent the case to local office in Feb and I am still waiting.

I have been noticing the frustration for those petitioners who filed in March and so on. I am sorry to tell you all but I filed in January and still have not heard..you might have a while to wait.

I agree with you both. I got reply from my congresswoman and they told her it will be 12 months but every single Tier2 officers told me 6 to 8 months. I just hope/wish that she is correct. Only thing I noticed different about her is she wasnt rude like most of the tier2 officers. She was talking pleasantly.

hi!!!

while we posted that link above, somebody told me that, that link could probably be fake and the person gave me this link https://petitions.whitehouse.gov. He said this is where you should be signing up for.

@heytoot: thanks for posting the link to the petition to White House, but I wonder if some one apart from US citizens can sign it. Also, these petitions lapse after a certain time and they will be responded to only if they meet the signature threshold.

A similar petition was made in 2011 to implement a strict timeframe for approval of IR-1/CR-1 visas, but that petition failed to meet the signature threshold in the given time.

Seeing that the Obama administration does respond to these petitions, I urge the Visa Journey site organizers to get each and every one of us suffering from the long wait times to sign the petition by creating awareness about the petition and prompts to sign. New members and members who have completed their journey should be requested to sign too.

Seeing that the Obama administration does respond to these petitions, I urge the Visa Journey site organizers to get each and every one of us suffering from the long wait times to sign the petition by creating awareness about the petition and prompts to sign. New members and members who have completed their journey should be requested to sign too.

Why should it be on VJ organizers to do it? In my opinion, they've already done their bit by setting up the VJ itself (and i am very grateful to them for doing so). Timelines of processing however is a matter completely unrelated to them and varies over time. It should be the unhappy petitioners who should create a petition to Obama and spread the word. You can't prompt members to sign by site means - this is not even related to all the members.

I'm the beneficiary.

@dilmera Hi! How are you?

Well that link actually came from somebody here on Vj that filed 2 years ago, I think. Well, the organizer here on Vj can't really do nothing regarding signing up for that one, unless they wanted to help though, We can actually create a new forum or somethin wherein we can ask help from people who are filing for the spousal visa or someone who filed the visa before and was having the same issue that we have now (if they even still care about that). But before we can do that we have to make sure that no thread is already created that contains the same thing. I just know it's not just the march filers who are getting frustrated and hostile, impatient whatever. But there are also some from the previous months having that kind of emotion and I'm pretty sure they would like to help in signing up for that one.

I even knew someone way back in the day that filed the same visa it even took them close to 2 years . Wasn't there a specific bill that was pass on regarding the spousal visa? But I don't know if it was even approved.

The longest period of time is waiting for something or someone you truly want. Isn't it? So, I really don't know what we can do for now.
