I-130 MARCH 2013 FILERS!! NBC

hi everyone IM PRETTY SURE MY HUSBAND AND MY RECORD IS CLEAN AND ####### DO THEY MEAN WITH THIS OUR SENATOR SENT US THIS BS THAT DOESNT EVEN REALLY EXPLAIN CLEARLY WAT IS GOING ON :

USCIS records show that this I-130 petition was received on March 19, 2013 at the National Benefits Center and transferred to the Nebraska Service Center on November 7, 2013.

USCIS records can confirm that your constituent’s case is pending background check clearance. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in a timely manner while also ensuring public safety and national security. A small percentage of applications and petitions have unresolved background check issues that temporarily delay adjudication. Although USCIS makes every effort to resolve such cases promptly, USCIS is unable to speculate when the background check will be completed.

If a background check reveals an issue that may impact the eligibility for the requested immigration benefit, further inquiry is needed. The inquiry may include an additional interview and/or contact with another agency for updates or more comprehensive information. Upon gathering and assessing all available information, USCIS will adjudicate the application as quickly as possible.

USCIS realizes that your constituent may be frustrated by the progress of this case. However, the agency must balance individual inconvenience against broader issues of public safety and national security.

We hope this information is helpful.

Thank you,

U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Service

Nebraska Service Center

I received the SAME EXACT response... 2 weeks later and me bugging the ####### out of the senator's office I received a message saying the issues have been resolved and my cases have been sent to the dept. to be adjudicated.

I felt the same way. Our records are BOTH clean.. My best guess is that they are using this excuse now because they have no OTHER reason to hold us up. The senators office told me once it goes into additional background checks, the posted processing dates no longer apply. So it doesn't matter if we are beyond the normal processing dates . Its a bunch of ####### if you ask me.

I was also getting opposite information when I called the USCIS helpless line. They even told me my K3 only just got transferred on Feb 10th When I have a hard copy from them saying it was transferred on Nov 29th. The senator's office verified the location of both of my files a few months back. Both are at the TSC. The senator's office informed me that the Tier 1 & 2 operators do NOT have access to the full case. They could be looking at old info.

Don't feel like you are singled out with the background checks. Its the new excuse they are feeding us !

I hope we all get approved this coming week. It is sad how we have to go through all this. I have been so depressed the last few weeks

yup, that is exactly what I was thinking... YOU HAD MY FILE FOR 10 MONTHS AND YOU HAVEN'T EVEN DONE THE BACKGROUND CHECKS?????? They don't even check much in this stage anyway.. They are pretty much verifying citizenship, whether or not you were free to marry and the background checks to make sure you aren't on any lists.... The NVC and Embassy process everything else....

the background checks take us out of the queue. I guess so they can buy more time... its such a backwards system.. If they didn't get paid til the file was processed we would have all been approved a long time ago...

You are echoing the exact sentiments I feel. The NBC just sat on the file for 8 months doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, then the Nebraska SC took 3 months to process it while almost everyone had their approvals in a month. I agree we should have held off the payment until the work was done.
