Yesterday, i.e. January 21, 2014, I wrote my immigration story on the White House website and got the following e-mail response. Needless to say it is an automated response and I cannot reply to that e-mail address.

Out of curiosity, someone please clairfy this one. When I called the service line, the recording said you had to be the 'Petitioner, the attorney of record or the Applicant or have the Applicant present' in order to speak with them. Wouldn't Dilmera be the Applicant? If yes, then she can call the service line and make a service request herself.

I did not remeber the 'Applicant' part until I called them again.

I thought the same thing. But whenever I would call, i would always get confused, when they would ask who i am. I thought i was the appicant, bc i filled out the application. But sometimes they use benficiary and that one is a no-brainer.

Today, I will call and ask them if either spouse can call and get the same services. I will let u know. If they say, "yes", i will send u the steps to getting to a live person.

If there is no action, u have to write to the "follow up" email and then, they have like 21 or 30 days to reply. So they keep buying themselves time. I am just scared that i am going to be writing and calling and they will keep pushing me off another 30 - 60 days for answers, and i will never get one. (Ugh, now i am being a negative Nancy.)

my wife called the USCIS and told them that give us the referl number so the women( uscis representative) gave her id number and name... is this the service request?

Your being negative is not for nothing. Like GAFL said she did everything under the sun and more, but didn't knew if all that helped or if it was just her turn. As something of a consolation for not placing a service request, I do have the e-request which I placed on January 6 after my 60 days were up. I have a request number too. They have got to do something about that e-request filed. I am going to wait 30 days (Feb 5) and if I don't hear back from them by then, I will write to the followup e-mail address quoting my request number. I think they have 21 days to get back. If I don't have answers to my case by end of Feb, I think then I will have to contact the Ombudsman Liaison Unit. Edited January 22, 2014 by dilmera

Thank you Marhaba. IF these people had done their job on time, we wouldn't be missing festivals, anniversaries and birth of children. An acquaintance told my husband that all the people who were approved out of turn are professionals and skilled people; I don't know how much truth there is to that statement.

You are yourself so competent to deal with the process. Moreover, I am pretty sure you husband is equally competent. Hello Peace500, thank you for your prayers. The reason why my husband hired a lawyer was because he didn't want anything to go wrong with our case. He felt he could do everything by himself, but didn't want to take a chance. He therefore called his lawyer and asked for referral to the best immigration lawyer. His lawyer came up with this immigration lawyer; I don't even know his name. Anyway, I tell my husband we ought to put in a service request through the lawyer and the lawyer was unwilling to put in one instead saying that he sent an e-mail or mail to NSC and that was enough and my husband thought so too. I convinced my husband that even I e-mailed them but they said to first put in the service request, wait 30 days, then contact them with the service request number. He said he would do it but I don't know if he has done it yet or not. I can do a lot about our case, but me being the beneficiary limits me in a lot of ways. For instance, I was told I cannot put in the service request. If you see the mail above I got from the White House, it mentions about the Ombudsman case assistance. I can't even view the assistance form on that website because "my server doesn't have permission" to do so.

Yes, there should be an option for that. Can you bring this to the notice of the ombudsman?

Or you can when you write them. I, btw, wouldn't wait to write them. It takes them 45 days to just look at a request.

Okay Dilmera, i called today. The rep said that you could call, but would need to have your husband on the line to give the verbal authorization for that rep to give you info during that call. If this is something you both can do, it would be good.

The menu options to get a live person are:

1. Press 1, for english

2. Press 1, for case status

3. Press 1, to check status or report a problem with your case

4. Press 1, if you know your reciept #

5. Enter your receipt # (including the letters, like msc would be 672, then continue with the rest of the #

6. Press 1, (after the system repeats the # u entered), to confirm the receipt # u entered is correct

Next, the system will read what is listed on your case status online.

7. Press 3, to report a problem and speak with a cust service representative.

This is where the recordin states: "you must be the applicant, petitioner or attorney of record, or have the applicant present"

I do not know how, but the rep today, said sometimes the applicant can be the petitioner but never the benficiary. He gave an example, but i did not understand it and i called during my morning break, so i did not have time to ask him to elaborate further. (Sorry i cud not be more helpful.)

Now, that you are out of processing time, i hope your atty will do something further? And if not, i hope your husband will go on the line w u. Tell him he just has to give his authorization, by saying, yes. And that u will do all the rest of the talking. Lol

I can't use the online submission either. You can't use it outside the USA you have to send them an email to: cisombudsman@hq.dhs.gov

Mention in your email that you're abroad and you can't use the online submission and that's why you sent an email.

hi bad news so for you all that got transferred well i MEAN just me prbly the only dumb stupid woman on this that is getting played with the answers of Nebraska center, I emailed them ON JAN 8th and they practically told me that we have to wait 5 more months because the time starts to count once they receive the case not when the other office did
