And I thought it was that some senators and/or house members had more pull with different federal offices. Since you're in Nevada, you've got Reid, the Senate Majority Leader and you're getting the same response, that's proof that USCIS could care less who calls. But I will see how much I can get the senators and representatives to bother them.

No approvals in the March group since Chris and Trinh on 7/16, but they had approval earlier than the rest of us coz the USC is living with the beneficiary out of The US and mailed the I-130 from that address. A mid-February filer recently got approved around 5 months, eventually, am hopeful that the USCIS might finish up the Feb 20s filers and move on to March filers.

There are more than 2. Check here. You can sort by NOA1 and see when they filed and if anyone got approved. I calculated the non-DCF approvals and got the number of 13 approvals, of them at least 1 i know was expedited. Didn't count the DCF numbers.

I'm the beneficiary.

Don't have a timeline? Don't know how to get started with it? Do it for the statistics sake: VJ video guide

Filing for a USC spouse visa (IR-1/CR-1) and not sure what comes next? Check out the VJ IR-1/CR-1 guide

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

You guys have to realize there is not much more that your governor/senator can do. They don't have as much pull as you might think. If you know anything about the US government, you will know there are 3 branches of government (Legislative, Executive, Judicial). Your government represenative is under the Legislative branch and the USCIS & Consular services are under the Executive branch. Two seperate branches of government. These branches of government have their own set of rules/tasks/roles. They are there so one part of govenrment cannot have all the power but keep a balance.

With that said, each branch of government has their own ranking and chain of command. One branch of government, Legislative has limited power in the affairs of the Executive branch. Sure the government can work together, but they can not order the other to do something. Your senator/governor can make an inquirery but that is about it. The USCIS and Consular services do not even have to give them any information on the case at all if they so choose to.

I am not stating this to discourage anyone from writing their representatives. Just understand they have limited power because the issues you are asking them to get involved in are not even in their same branch of government. Sure they are there to help, and represent the people. Thier voice is more powerful than one of ours, so hopefully an inquirery can get more results than you could by calling yourself.

Just realize in the end, the only things that will get you to the end of this process is the love for your partner and some patients. The process isn't perfect by far, but it is the current process that we all have to follow, like it or not.

I disagree. These people are supposed to be "representatives" that means they represent their people. It is their job to help their constituents when they are in need. Can they walk into USCIS and tell them what to do? No. But I believe if enough people write in, eventually the process will be fixed for those who will file in the next couple years. And heck, since they're already in the system, maybe they know someone who works at USCIS who can pull some strings to get things moving. That's all that government is in the end- the people you know and the money you have.

And heck, since they're already in the system, maybe they know someone who works at USCIS who can pull some strings to get things moving. That's all that government is in the end- the people you know and the money you have.

So what part are you disagreeing with? I said they are there to represent the people. They can make an inquirery. Hopefully get some information that you can't. In some cases maybe a case will get some action. However, in the majority of the cases it does nothing,,,,,nada,,,,zip...0 !!

Disagree all you want, nothing I said was untrue, Your senator will even tell you the same. They are there to help any way they can and INQUIRE about your case. They will even admit that USCIS and Consular services DO NOT even have to respond to their inquiries, which most times they get the same lame excuse you are given.....6mo-1year.

If you complain enough the system will be fixed? Nothing is going to be fixed until there is some kind of immigration reform passed, that they are working on now. Will it be better??? We can only wait and see.

There are more than 2. Check here. You can sort by NOA1 and see when they filed and if anyone got approved. I calculated the non-DCF approvals and got the number of 13 approvals, of them at least 1 i know was expedited. Didn't count the DCF numbers.

Hollyday, I stand corrected. What I meant was only two March filers approved so far for the month of July, to the best of my knowledge.

Just my 2 cents: Legislative branch has power to pass legislation and make Executive branch work under the new rules. If they feel that's what people need, maybe they'd do it to keep the voters happy. Heh. They might not be able to influence them in their daily job directly but with passing new laws - yes. If noone tells them people are unhappy, how should they find out?.. An inquiry is also a way of letting them know, among other things.

I'm the beneficiary.

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.
