I've been waiting for 4 months so far. According to my timeline, I'm supposed to hear back starting July 23 until October 1. After October, it's past the time frame.

I wonder why you have such a big time frame there. I only have from 14th July to 15th of August or something like that. (o.O)

I do not know but I think if your case is showing up online that means someone looked into your file. Is this the first time your case status showing up online since you filed? Were your case with MSC? I would suggest you to call tier2 and find out if it is assigned to anyone. If so you should hear something in couple weeks.

I filed in March but my case is not showing up at all.

From what i've read in this site, my impression was it's not 'assigned to anyone' till they pick it in the morning and process during the day (resulting in a decision or an RFE).

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

It's possible that it was just sent to a local office vs being at the NBC so someone may have looked at it. We call it a "touch"

I am also a March filer. I filed on March 15th and received my NOA1 on March 18th, which stated my form was forwarded to the NBC. Since then I haven't heard anything from them, I even called then and they were much of any use. I hope I start see some March filers getting their NOA2 soon.

The NBC is a large service center. It used to be called the Missouri Service Center (hence you MSC number). Most I-130s will be sent to the local office of the petitioner.

Thia link should explain it a little:

I don't believe them what they say because I had conflicting answers from two different officers. I have no idea how they were giving me two different answers by looking at their computer system and getting my information from the same system.

But I am not going to give up I will call them at least twice a month. Because thats the only way I can find out the status of my file. I can't even see it online.

You should create an online account with USCIS. They will show you the last updated date. If it recently changed you will know they are processing your petition. When I log into my account it shows me last updated 03/22/13. Let me know how it works out.

But this wont work when the status says that the application number cannot be found, which is my problem. My receipt number starts with MSC

I just want to comment on one thing, since I am not sure about other things you are asking. I believe India has HSBC banks there if I am correct?? If so I heard that if you have or maybe open an account with them, they could also help you open one with HSBC in the US if you are a US citizen. I have heard of other's doing this. I am not sure how true that is but it is something you can look into doing if you have an HSBC bank near you. Worth a try anyway
