The other way of just waiting is slow. Maybe with this new pressure it from our March group. It may shorten the process. What do we have to loose for trying nothing.

Absolutely, not only that some of us can not echeck the status online as USCIS says we should be able to. So what to believe and not to believe...this is a US Government and they run very slow. Lady during my infoPass also admitted with a smile on her face.

Two of them but not more than anything I already know.

Office is about 20 min. from my house so I would just visit the office on my way to work.

random question: why do people who filed in March already start calling senators, getting infopass appointments, etc.? It's still within the time frame at the moment, isn't it?

I am eagerly awaiting my wife's approval also but have not gone to the extent of calling senators and info passes. I think at this point it is pretty silly and won’t accomplish much. As you said, at this time everything is within a normal time frame.

However, with that said, I think the USCIS does not help matters in that regard. For one, their website does not work all the time for status updates. It tells you to call their office. When you call most times you are treated rudely and given incorrect and useless information. These inconsistencies and unwillingness to help push people to try other channels (being info passes and senators) of getting some relevant information. When there is not a strict order or processing and people see other petitions approved that were filed weeks or months after theirs it gets frustrating. I think this is the main reason people start calling senators and get info passes.

My own personal case: I filled an i130 for my wife. I am the USC. My wife is Vietnamese. We both currently live together in Vietnam. We filed March 18th and are still waiting. I have been able to check my status online up until about 2 weeks ago. It suddenly changed and said it could not find my case. Thus, I have been calling weekly since then for my status update. Also I monitor the current stats page of this website http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?form=2&visa=3&scenter=4&option=3&sortby=2 to see where USCIS is in the process. As I can see not many have been approved near mine so I am not too concerned nor feel like a need to call a senator. Our time will come we just need to be patient and not lose our minds with the process.

I suppose i've been lucky enough to see my status in the system (though i managed to lose my USCIS password lol). I've heard people sometimes can't even see it from the beginning, so i can imagine them calling too.

When i look at Igor's list it's really helpful in terms of understanding where you stand so i do it almost every day as well. :) Other than that - just waiting patiently at the moment.

I'm the beneficiary.

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

I agree. I think it's way too early for March filers to be bugging USCIS so much. Especially when there's still people from Nov/Dec waiting around.

Yes, it's a frustrating process. Yes, it takes a long time. Yes, it is nearly impossible to get consistent answers on the phone. But that's what it's like for everyone. Everyone had to go through this. Everyone had to wait for a period of time that is way too long. Unfortunately, it's just how it is.

My sentiments exactly. Not that i don't sympathize with people who have to wait and want to be on top of their cases - don't we all?

I'm the beneficiary.

I have seen so many time that when you follow the rules you are put last. What does it hurt to try another method that may get better results. If the USCIS does not see any pressure are they going to change? Every change starts with doing something different when Senators are calling them asking why is my voter complaining. You do not think they may start to look at changing things. People in the USA are to complacent they wait for someone else to make a change even when it benefits the group. What do we have to loose.

Both petitioner and beneficiary overseas?

It would be nice if members who are approved also let us know if they are overseas or in US, any thoughts fellow members?

My husband and I are living overseas together, but our lawyer sent the papers in for us from the U.S. so not sure if that makes a difference or not...??

Does it really make a difference though if the couple live together overseas? It makes the process go faster??
