Yes and no, when an I-130 petition is filed at an office abroad, it is adjudicated by USCIS personnel. The USCIS office just happens to be on the same grounds as the Embassy or Consulate. If USCIS approves the petition, it's walked over to the IV unit where State Department personnel take over and continue the process.

Yeah, too bad it can't be that fast for the rest of us who can't be with our spouses and are forced to wait an ungodly amount of time.

Me and my husband are March 2013 filers PD is march 21. Got our noa1 April 4 the I called them back in June 2013 to make address change and was told then that unbc was still procecessing Oct 2012 i130's I have called at least once a month since then and I keep getting told they are still working on Oct 2012 files I just called 2 days ago and was told the same thing my question is how long does it take to process 1 months worth of files you mean to say its been 4 months since the first time I called and they are still working on Oct 2912 files I think someone is lying to us I talk to a tier 2 person every time I call and they tell me the same thing

That date is totally false. They have no idea what they're talking about and tell the same thing to everyone, even though people from January, February, March and April have been approved, even some from May and June. Unless they're the slowest government body in the world, I don't see how they could still be working on I-130s from October 2012. That makes no sense. Don't believe them and just sit tight. That's all we can do right now.

I just had my info pass appointment in Philadelphia. Only thing they really told me was that our case was "touched" on Oct 16th. I hope this means they are working on it? When I log into my account online it still says it hasn't been touched since March 28th. So basically a waste of time.

Did they tell you where your file actually is? Philly or the MSC?

On Oct 16th, your file was probably moved from one pile to another..

It would be so nice to get some useful information from them......

Yes he said they touched it probably to be sure it was in the right place?? He said it is sill at MSC has not been moved to Philly.

I had info pass 2 weeks ago, and they told me my file was touched on august 23rd, but I still haven't seen any movement :-/

its a notice telling you that it was transferred ! Could be a good sign depending on where your file was.
