I am in the process of filling out the I-129F form. I noticed it asks for an alien number. I understand that its the number given on the Greencard before becoming a citizen. I became a citizen through my parents who are naturalized 10 years ago. We gave the greencards in years ago when we became citizens so I don't know what the alien number would be. Would it be a problem if I left this empty?

sciencework, where can we find that A# because my fiance naturalized citizen and he doesn't where to find that number? because he was still young when he became a USC. thank you so much. and god bless...

look for CJS or CIS Registration No. on naturalization certificate. There are 2 numbers on mine. One says number, which is the naturalization certificate number and the other one is CJS Registration number. My GC # matched with the CJS #

Hello K1v, were you eventually able to get the information you needed? because I'm having a the same problem. My fiance became a citizen through his parents and gave up his green card for his citizenship, however he never got a certificate only his passport. So now he is without that number.

Does anyone know if in this case the A# can be left blank or is there another way to source it?

I also received my citizenship through my parents. I do not have a naturalization certificate only my US passport. I left the A# blank. For proof of citizenship, I photocopied all the pages of my passport as in the directions. Hopefully, that is all USCIS needs! G'luck!

This. I also received citizenship through my parents (I was born overseas in Philippines). All I did was check CITIZENSHIP THROUGH PARENTS, and included a copy of all pages of my passport.
