Hello all, I just go a letter from USCIS today saying

"US Citizenship and Immigration Services has identified your application as a potential interview waiver case. This means that we may not need to interview you to complete your application. "

YAY

Is this common?

Oh and anyone going through the AoS step, the letter also stated that they are really behind right now saying that they're working on apps submitted 6 months ago... so just a heads up

If you read the posts in the AOS subforum, you will see that a lot of members adjusting from a K1 have recently received the letter, including me. Seems like there is about a 50/50 chance for getting the interview waived.

yes but the green cards will usually process 8-12 months .

getting a interview is the faster route

2013-08-20 (DAY 8) Noa1 received via Text around 11pm, next day was email. Received my case numbers

2013-08-23 (Day 11)- received hard copy in mail for Noa1 gc , Work permit

2013-08-30 (Day 18) Received Biometrics appointment letter in the mail.

2013-09-17 (Day 25) biometrics appointment day @2pm Detriot

2013-09-25 (Day 33) received text and email , I485 changed to testing and interview

2013-10-02 (Day 40) received text message and email @7am about my interview date

2013-10-04 (Day 42) Received hard copy interview letter in the mail

2013-10-10 (Day 48) Work permit Card in production

2013-10-16 (Day 54) 2nd Text and email @830am Work permit in Production

2013-10-21 (Day 59) text/email notice 10am . Work Permit sent

That used to be the case for sure with AOS, however its Not necessarily that way for the ROC stage. I got my 10 year green card in June, and i was an October filer, there are a few people in that group who only JUST NOW got an interview letter. It's a bit mind boggling if you ask me, especially since they have already applied for naturalization and have their bio appointments for it. USCIS boggles the mind sometimes.

Happens a lot, the new thing is actually getting a notice that was happening. I just waited and waited and waited with no word till my file was transfered and then guess that we would get no interview.
