Approaching 12 mth ACPO validity

Hi,

Our NOA2 was received back in April and expired August. We were delayed due to my ex refusing to give permission for the kids to relocate and I had to go through the courts but I now have that sorted and sent all my forms to the Embassy with a covering letter nearly two weeks ago.

I have a notarised letter of intent to revalidate, but I know my medical was done in May and my police certificate expires in November. Should I order a new police certificate just in case? What will happen with the medicals and the need for flu jabs after October 1st? Anyone know?

The main issue I see for you is that, when you are granted your visa, you are given 6 months to enter the US on a K1 visa from the date of your medical. The timings at the moment seem to be 5 weeks to be told of your interview date, which will be about a month later. So you could be looking at an interview date of around early to mid November. So your visa could be ready mid to late November. Is this going to be more than 6 months after your medical date? Would you be able to leave the UK as soon as you receive your visa? I know I left 2 days after receiving mine but I didn't have kids to think about!

The police certificate needs to be valid at the time of the interview.

The flu shot is only necessary if you have the medical in flu season.

Hi Anna,

Thanks for your comments. I can leave at a moment's notice following the half-term break (last week of October), so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they can schedule us sometime in October. I did say in my covering letter I would be available for last minute cancellations and asked for an interview asap so the kids can get settled in school.

Hopefully, they take that into consideration.
