Waited for 1month and 10days just to received this green card with incomplete first name today. Im so disappointed! Also went to social sec office to personally apply for ss# last aug 30 but they told me that they would still verify our status. Tomorrow im going back to the social sec office to show them my green card i hope they can issue me a ss# eventhough my first name in gc is incomplete. Il request for a new gc but i need to secure my ss# first. Il be so frustrated if i wont b e able to get my ss# and need to return my gc for replacement this means i cant apply for work and i cant travel out of US. They are making me crazy. Anyone with same experience?

Why can't you travel? You still have the visa in your passport right? If it's less than a year old that is a temporary green card you can use until you get your green card corrected. This means an I-90 form without fee and returned to the USCIS. Also use the endorsed visa in your passport as your means to get the SSN card. They can also check your SAVE database to make sure everything is correct. If it's not, you need to go to your nearest CBP office and get it fixed.
