would it be too late to pay for this immigrant fee...my husband arrived yesterday for CR-1 case..Pls Help.

You can pay online. your husband wont have his GC until he doesnt pay card production fees

it does not affect his lawful permanent resident status. However it is recommended that aliens follow USCIS suggestions and pay the $165 immigrant fee after receiving their immigrant visa package but before departing their foreign country for the United States to ensure quick issuance of their green cards.

you will be recieving gc soon.. most of the ppl paid their fees after they arrived in US

Worried that he might not get his greencard..since I didnt pay it before he leaves...coz thats what the USCIS instruct to do. Some says it still okay to pay it online after arrival..so that gave me a little relief. Hope more people will confirm it that it still okayunsure.png

Failure to Pay

You will not receive a Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) until you pay the required US$165 USCIS Immigrant Fee. Failure to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee does not affect your lawful permanent resident status, but it does affect when USCIS will be able to issue you a Green Card. You should pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee after you receive your immigrant visa package from the Department of State and before you depart for the United States.

Unpaid Fees

USCIS will not issue you a Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) until it receives your Immigrant Fee. USCIS will send you a Request for Evidence (RFE) if you do not pay your fee after 45 days. You will receive a second RFE if you fail to pay the fee within 90 days.
