Well, his dad is the only that works, but he makes a lot of money.. his mom stays home because they also have a computer shop. Yup, that's what his dad told me yesterday morning. Then, last night (morning time there), he went with his mom to open a bank account for them, and put money in there and get a bank certificate to show that he can be supported by his parents.

If that still doesn't work out, our son and I might have to go back to the PI..

Thank you DavenRoxy!!!

Foreign parents being able to support the beneficiary is of no value at the embassy. USC are required.

Eeh, yeah.. my point exactly. It's freaking insane. And if you think that I'm the only one blaming Obamacare for this, maybe you should consult with people with no jobs or part-time workers.

Obama, in my opinion, is turning the US into a population of part-time workers.

I'm a highly credentialed Registered Nurse, currently unemployed. 90+% of all jobs that I now see are part-time jobs and these jobs are replacing what used to be full time jobs.

So IMHO the OP's comments in my opinion are valid.

Like Bruce Springstein sang:

"Foreman says these jobs are going boys and they ain’t coming back to

Your hometown...."

OP consider a job change. Many elder nursing homes will train you as a CNA/LNA (Certifed Nurse Assistant) and these jobs often make $12-$18/hour and usually have overtime so it'd be easy to make the requisite minimum income. Sometimes a person has to make fundamental changes.

Note: That's what I did in 2002--and I was 51 years old when I went back to school to become a nurse so I don't want to hear "I can't do that..." There is opportunity in America but it's not quite as easy as it was 20 years ago.

I'm just curious. Are you really making $3/hour? If that so, I think you should transfer to different company because as far as I know the minimum wage in united stated should be at least $7.25/hour. I'm just concern cause you shouldn't get paid that low for your hard work.

Waiters usually make $2/hr and work off tips.... this is obviously what she meant since the min wage in the U.S. is over $8...

Trust me when I say I have applied at many many places, no call backs, nothing, whatsoever. So as of now, if this doesn't go thru, I'll just go back to the PI. I know I'm not gonna be able to find a job there either, because I still haven't finished college. But I don't know, I'm very very stressed. crying.gif

To be honest, I've tried.. my problem is.. I don't have a car. The places that offer those course are far from my house and no public transportation. I have my driver's license, but my parents wouldn't let me borrow a car because I have no car insurance. And if I do drive to get to where I need to be, I also need the money to do that. I can't get loans because I graduated highschool in the PI. I have to get a GED because they wouldn't take my highschool diploma. :(

I just applied for a front desk at a hotel, and it's $7.25/hr. If I get that, I think that will solve our problem.

Nevermind Georgia is different. I'm sorry that it happen to you because I heard too that some people got lucky because they were approved using joint sponsor. I hope you're family will able to get through this.

Sorry to hear your story. but if your income is not enough, you should have applied for VISA expedite process,

one of the criteria is "Severe financial loss to company or individual." please check the link >> http://1.usa.gov/4CMy2F

I know someone from before that he got no work for 3 or 4 months when he filed the petition,

so he applied for expedite process and they got approved. I'm not sure if this works for K1.

But if not then better marry in the PI and file for spouse visa.

God Bless!

Political bullshit aside, what about providing bank statements? Life insurance terms? From yourself and your sponsors?

Bank statements are of little value unless there is 5X the shortage for meeting the poverty guidelines in the account. Only whole life with cash value would be looked at with life insurance, term insurance has no cash value.

Yeah, I'm just wondering if the petitioner can pool his sponsor's funds into his own bank account. Kinda like how some home buyers these days need to show banks that a reserve capital exists, so they ask relatives/sponsors to borrow some money temporarily to show that reserve capital.
