Zamboanga Under siege from MNLF since Monday. The MNLF has taken over 5 buranguy and raised their flag and have many hostages they are using as human shields. Each night they are burning down houses in these buranguy and Fire Dept can't respond as MNLF snipers threaten to kill them. I hope the Government will send in a large military presence to put an end to this as no one living close by the affected areas can go to work and if they do they risk their own life. Many businesses tried opening and my Fiance worked half day today until Police chased a group of 8 MNLF dressed in civilian clothing try to go into new areas and take over. Gunfire across the street from her work as her and 3 other Women ran to lock the doors and hid in the building until safe to go out and home. The Boss said after today they will not attempt to open the business until things are truly better but the City Mayor refuses to call this a City emergency even though the Zamboanga Airport has been shut down since Monday too. My Fiance House is filled with Her Brother and Wife, Here Sister with 3 young kids including a new born and my Fiance's two young boys. Her Sisters staying with her has a house is in one of the buranguy taken over but her Husband is a police officer and continually calls to give them updates on what the situation is at current state. They remained locked and inside the house until this gets resolved. I feel so helpless but grateful I can speak with her everyday as I had wifi installed in the house months ago. I pray for all of their safety and just hope this is resolved soon.

PS. We are waiting for MNL# and this invasion affects us in that way as I can't arrange travel for her to Manila. She is hopeful that the airport will open soon and we can continue on our Visa for her and kids. If not then I have said I will try to get her and kids bussed up to Dipolog where it is safe but of course she doesn't want to leave her Brother and Sister either.

Prayers please.

My wife was telling me about that yesterday.... that area is in need of a serious over-haul!

i agree! The situation of the Muslim extremist was to just ignore them and they will go away. Well guess what.

What the Philippine government needs to do is to sink the islands of Jolo and Basilan where most of the terrorists live. Also, contain Maguindanao where most of the warlords in Mindanao live

The Tausugs and the Maguindanaos are the pain in the ### of Mindanao. No wonder that these are the poorest provinces. Warlike mentality.
