it's not exclusive to muhammad. in the bible, girls are property as well. it was how things were done way back when. i don't understand why so many refuse to do away with irrelevant religious texts. ask god or allah to ghost write something current. something that doesn't propogate human suffering.

We are dealing with Muslims that either...

1.. Marry 8 year olds and have sex with them until they die

OR

2. Make stories up of such things that people actually BELIEVE (why would anyone believe such things unless the sometimes actually happen) in order to embarrass some other Muslim family.

Which are the good guys?

I will leave others to defend this nonsense. If I did not believe in the Bill of Rights and was willing to accept the erosion of parts of our rights... the way some people are...then I would say "take a hard look at the freedom of religion"

Glad you shed some light on this. I wasn't even focused on the Muslim side of this, since it's my religion as well. I was looking soley at the alleged perp.

So imagine a story that a Mormon married an 8 year old....

We would say "NO WAY! Even in Utah, 8 year olds can't get married!" There is a fundamental problem when such a story COULD be used to embarass a "sect" or anyone else and not be simply considered absurd on its face. Anyone ignoring that angle is simply ignoring a fundamental issue.

I usually figure it was one of my opponents in a debate. Most are incapable of anything but TOS violations in a debate. I encourage it.

In fact, I am fairly convinced the TOS rule against personal insults is unconstitutional as it represents descrimnation based on Nationality.
