The interview went well :) it was really easy.

Friends

I just got this silly email from Montreal.. It is driving me crazy :

Good day,

Thank you for your email. Please email us your new mailing address so we can update your file. As of today, we have not received your packet 3.

Please note that all mail addressed to the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal undergoes thorough security clearance procedures at an offsite facility. This creates additional delays for the mail to actually reach our office. The date you claim the mail was delivered is not the actual date our office has received your mail.

Sincerely,

At the interview?

Since when have we known each other. When did we first meet in person. How many times do we see each other. What's his job, and mine. Where are we planning on getting married, does he have a big family, and will my family be coming to the wedding.

I was expecting questions to be a bit scarier than that, but really it wasn't :) And the person interviewing me was friendly enough.

Oh and... is that police certificate an original? --My police certificate had a stamp, but was not.... uh... not sure if that's the correct english word. Embossed? , so they thought it was a photocopy. It gave me a bit of a scare that they would refuse it and I would need to go get one with embossing, but it all turned out well, in the end.

--- and about that email you got. Hmmm... that's weird. Well, I would just follow their instructions and email them back your current address. And give them a few more days before deciding what to do.

Maribel&Kyle:

We sent our Packet 3 on August 28th, received August 29th in Montreal. I last spoke to the DOS yesterday (September 20) and they still haven't logged our packet either. I have spoken to that call centre probably 10 times and on at least half of those occasions I have been treated very poorly by the agents who seem to resent having to answer the phone and want to get you off the line as quickly as possible. We've been told "not logged" means not received and we should re-send the packet; "not logged" means received but being processed; and one agent told me she didn't know the answer to any of my questions and I should just call back a different time. Incredibly frustrating!!!!!!!

But, CEAC says our file is READY and we should call to book an interview. I called the DOS to confirm if this was true and they told me to ignore the CEAC because it always has mistakes!?! I don't know how this is possible. We called and booked an interview for December 3rd. So far they haven't cancelled it on us, but I keep checking because I'm paranoid that we weren't actually supposed to book. We sent an inquiry about our actual status on the Public Inquiry Form for Montreal, but of course won't hear anything for at least 2 weeks...

We have been going through this process since February 4th - our Packet 3 was sent to use in June but we never received it and didn't know we could just download the forms until the end of August.

Does anyone have any experience with the CEAC? If it says READY should I believe it?

Also, am I correct in believing that I can't go to my medical without having physically received Packet 4?

Thanks and Good Luck everyone!!!

Hi there,

In this case i would suggest that you wait for an email from the Montreal Consulate telling you that it is ok to proceed with an interview. I was in the same situation like You

and also have called DOS so many times but they told me that our case was still pending UNTIL yesterday when i received an email from the Consulate saying that it is ok to

proceed !! - If You have already booked and appointment and they havent cancelled yet it must be a good sign. How about trying to write an email to Montreal , they seem to read emails and reply .. I totally understand your frustation. I am pretty sure you will hear an answer soon !

We started our whole K1 journey in January of this year !!... If you have found an appointment for the 3rd of DECEMBER !! WOW !! i wonder when will it be mine !?? Since i just got

the letter of Montreal and i noticed that the next date available will be in 80 days :'( !!

We will see, At this point i have learnt to be extremely patiente with all this non sense of papers and legal stuff. I know that they have to do their job but it is insane the time that they take.

Anyway , I wish You the best and dont get over worried... I was given mine for lost as well... when yesterday i saw my inbox and it was there !

keep in touch !

How did you reschedule an appointment WITHOUT losing the actual one in case There is nothing convenient ?

I tried to do this the other day But i lost the one i had already booked.. So i had to wait at the next day... Fortunately I was able to choose the same date and hour i had picked before.

Current interview dates are in December right now. We originally were November but were able to score an October date. Average is 80 days from P4, but you can typically snake an earlier date if you watch the website like a hawk.

We just sent the checklist.
