What is your point? This runs along the lines of the 'I have black friends so I can't be racist' thinking. People caught in poverty traps do not have the same resources as people immigrating, it's that simple. Oh, and I do not believe your Nigerian neighbour is trigger happy or that he hates black people. Go figure.

Did not say "he hates black people". Said he strongly dislikes the "urban" culture (drugs, gangs, violence). There IS a difference. I strongly dislike the "urban" culture too.

He is a little bit trigger happy. It's Texas. Go figure. LOL

"hoodie" comment specifically meant to represent those who embrace that culture - the group that wide-eyed puzzled libs pretend do not exist and lump in with "all black people" so that if anyone points it out or mentions it of course they are pointing to all black people.

These are the same libs who, in addition to their wide-eyed puzzlement, also view themselves as qualified to actually look at words and define the intent behind them for others.

i don't get it.

Sigh...Marvin you and i both know the truth..We see the images every day on our news.We see the statistics. We know about all the young black kids dying at the hands of people in the Uniform I described. Let's not play this game

I did say in the post--Not every one that dresses like that is a criminal, did I not

As for M Cyrus--She has a great publicist--As soon as she checks in rehab a few times she will be an A lister for life..i dare say it is all very choreographed. As for the other two.i know very little about them

The dress isn't what's killing them. It's the environment. My point is black culture shouldn't be talked about like it's some disease, but when white folks take it and profit from it, then it becomes acceptable.

Well, google Miley Cirus latest pics or ever her newest rap single. Check out the biebster, he's been sagging for a while now, not to mention acting like a complete fook in public. And Katy Perry was at the VMA's all grilled up like three six mafia.

My point is, if you are going to say they way you dress makes you a criminal, why isn't JB called one? If having a grill full of marbles is dangerous, why does Katy Perry get to wear one? If acting "gangster" is scary, what could be said about Miley Cirus's recent foray in "black music"?

"a white person made a rap song so that makes the urban culture of celebration of drugs, crime, and violence perfectly acceptable and no different"

i don't get it.

Eminem made millions singing about drugs, rape, and beating/killing his wife.

Parents hated it, kids loved it, but at no point did anyone talk about the "white community" and how they should stand up against that culture.

Check my last post. I am pointing out how when black people do our culture, it's a problem. When white appropriate it, it becomes popular.

That's my beef with Miley Cirus twerking. It's been within the black community for a while now, and white folks hated it to death. They thought it was the most disgusting dance they'd ever seen. Any youtube video that displayed it was bombed with racist hate. I personally don't like it, but I'm not hating on folks who do it or like it.

But when she started doing it? Now white folks not only love it, they are going on the air to defend it. There is now a twerking work out tape, they're doing it on Fashion Police, it's becoming all the rage.

In order for black culture to be acceptable it has to pass through a white filter.

You blame Racism and i blame apathy

Maybe it's a mix

I like it, too. I LOVED Eminem when I was in high school. He just did not get the reaction that a black rapper would have gotten.

Nobody ever blasted the entire white community for his words or actions, as offensive as they were.

Nobody accuses the entire Black community of being goofy due to Steve Urkle either.

It is. I know that it's not entirely the white man's fault we are where we are. It's a mix of decades of systematic racism and discrimination combined with a laziness that seems to stem from self loathing, drugs, and a thought process that still doesn't make any sense to me, and i'm black.

I like old school rap, before all the drugs, women, and violence now. When I was younger, I listened to Jay-Z, DMX, the Lox, etc. Once I had kids, I didn't want my sons talking like that, so I had to lead by example.

Because when blacks act normal or even intelligently, it's called acting white. Or better yet, it's an anomaly. Like, oh, you're not like one of "them".

It's complicated in ways it shouldn't be. We have to live our lives completely different than any other race here. If we act normal or "white", we are called uncle toms, sell outs, and worse. We are outcast by our own people, yet white folks still won't accept us because no matter how polite we are, you're still black, it doesn't come off. If we embrace the "culture", we're told it's too "black" and can't get a job, get looked at sideways when we are in public, and get blamed for every single thing a black person does wrong.
