So I'm Canadian, and my fiance is American. We are just starting out this whole process, and are really flying blind. I've been doing research solid for the past couple weeks, and starting to kind of get a handle on this whole visa ordeal. Understanding what options there are, and how long it could possibly take. We were so naive at first. Thinking it would be a much simpler thing for me to move across the border into the states. And I hate giving bad news. But once I did some research, I had to break it to her that this is going to take a while, and if we do this, she might have to wait a few years before finally getting to go to college.

I'm making an account here, and bookmarking this site. Trying to find and learn as much as I can independently is getting a little overwhelming, so if I can get even one question answered then this site will be worth while in the end.

I'm going to be as active as I can, and hopefully figure out where to ask the questions I'm not able to find the information for.

Time to dive in I guess.

You'll find pretty much everything you need to know on this site. Use the Google custom search at the top. It's great! If you choose K1, once you file, you'll probably be together and married within a year.

Welcome and good luck on your journey! There is a mass of helpful information here, as well as some really great people :)

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

Welcome to VJ!

The Canadian forum is great as well for Canadian/US specific questions and just talking with other folks who have gone through the same journey you are about too.
