We sent of our petition back in january, it was sent to Texas, then to Vermont, back to Texas...finally we got our NO2 then we had it sent to NVC, then to the Consulate in London, it was sent out on 22nd of August and we still haven't heard anything from them...Does anyone have a contact number I can use to find out whether or not it has been received at the Embassy. If not a way that we can track our case status electronicaly. We have been apart for too long now and just want this all over so we can get back together.

Thank you for any advise given x

Have you managed to get your LND yet?

Packet 3 is basically just your LND number and a link to this website with instructions on how to apply for the visa: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

I assume you called the NVC to know your case left for London - did you get your LND while you were talking to them? If so, you can carry on and follow the instructions on the link above.

If you want anything from the embassy, you'll be redirected to using this form: http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html

Also, getting your LND lets you track your case status here from here on out: http://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker

This is the status of our case ....

U.S. Department of State
IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
Ready
Case Creation Date: 16-Aug-2013 Status Updated Date: 30-Aug-2013
Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html

For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV.

So my next question is .... How long are we going to have to wait or should we be telephoning the Embassy to schedule the appointment ourselves? we have tried various ways to do this online but have been unable to find the correct way forward, we appear to keep hitting dead ends.We have followed every link we can find on many various sites including London Embassy and travel State etc.. Any advice is truly and greatly appreciated. Thank you x

You shouldn't be phoning the Embassy to schedule it yourself - you should be getting a letter referred to as "Packet 3" requesting you to send the correct forms to the Embassy to proceed with the application. Once you've sent the forms in/declared your readiness either via. the old DS-2001 or the new DS-260 (they will tell you what to send on the letter), and had your medical, they will send you "Packet 4", a letter with an interview time and date that they have assigned to you.

Looking at your Status Updated date, it was quite a while ago, so if I were you, I'd phone the Department of State and query what is going on. They will be able to tell you if Packet 3 has been sent out yet or not.

Apparently the new number for the DoS is (202) 485-7600.

If you're calling from the UK, just stick a 001 in front.

And be advised "packet 3" is not a packet. It's not even close to a packet. It's not even close to a high quality document printed on some good paper and despatched in secure envelope. It is in fact some cheap crappy paper printed on someone's out of toner laser printer and shoved in a cheap envelope where the glue has dried out.

It is however very welcome wherever it lands dancin5hr.gif
